Tyee Fox's Homecoming

The news of my abilities quickly made its way through the pack, even to Cole who texted me a small message showing his support for me. It was a small gesture but it still meant a great deal considering he has hardly shown his face to anyone other than Leah.

With my rare powers, the rest of the pact was inherently intrigued, including Seth who was sitting across from the kitchen table practically begging me to shift into a different animal.

"What about an otter?" He pleaded.

I lent back against the chair, taking my attention off of the comedy movie Emily and Kim had playing. "I probably could."

Seth's grin grew as he repeatedly tapped the tabletop, "Oh, please! I got to see it!"

Despite feeling lazy, I decided to humor him," "Okay, but we gotta make it quick."

"Awesome!" He grinned and we both darted from the table to the front door. In our quick fire attempt to get to the front yard we pushed by Jared and Quill, the two flattening themselves against the doorway.

"Woah woah, where's the fire?!" Jared yelled.

"Since when are they best friends?" Quill grumbled after Seth stepped on his foot.

Seth braced himself as we neared the woods, "First an otter! Then, a flamingo! Oh, oh, oh- THEN a -"

The grumbling of an unfamiliar car exhaust cut off Seth's excitement. We both paused and straightened our backs, looking over the bend of the drive. Coming around the corning was a blue pickup truck; the windows were so darkly tinted that it was hard for Seth and I too even see who was inside, the only makings I could get was that it was a man.

La Push and Forks were very small communities compared in Chicago and undoubtedly over time I've grown used to seeing all the same cars, even categorizing them-, but this car, I'd never seen it before.

The truck pulled to the side of the drive and immediately shut off, an eerie silence falling over the yard. Something seemed wrong about this situation and even Seth stepped up alongside me, forming a stronger offense if needed.

Inside the house chairs were scraping against the wooden floor and not two seconds later Jared and Quill were making their way onto the porch, eyeing the mysterious truck.

The car door opened and an older man stepped out. He was wearing faded jeans that must have been in their prime two decades ago along with a shiny pair of black steel toed boots. He took the brown leather jacket from his shoulders and draped it over his arm as he closed the door.

Shooting a grin towards us he tipped the front of his cowboy hat and spoke in a slow drawl, "Hello, I heard you all were looking for me."

"You're Tyee Fox?" Seth questioned, seemingly not believing the walking appropriation of the midwest country lifestyle.

"The one and only."

Something about this entire situation felt off. Sam and Adrien have been looking for this man for over a month and he suddenly shows up out of the blue while they're still gone? Paul was out on patrol with Collin and Brady but I gripped onto my powers, our imprint bond finding him immediately.

Paul must have sensed my mental presence immediately as he was the first to talk. 'Aurora?' Paul's thoughts slipped into my mind, 'What's wrong?'

I showed him my memories of Tyee Fox and our entire apprehension towards the situation. A wolf howl sounded in the distance as Paul instantly began making his way back to us. Tyee smirked at that noise, almost like he was in on the joke- but how could he know the legends were true?
