It'll Be Okay Someday

Another nightmare had haunted my sleep that night.

Usually my nightmares consisted solely of Cole attacking me once more without the aid of Paul or any of the others. However, this dream was different-rather than Cole attacking me, it was a pack of wolves surrounding and pushing me to the ground where they continued to attack me.

The wolves were all recognizable, but it wasn't until Paul's wolf began striding closer, my subconscious began rejecting the nightmare and pushed me into a conscious and frightened state.

My heart was beating widely as I shot awake. My stitches sent a sharp rocket of pain through my side at my abrupt movement but I ignored it, pushing the blankets off me as my body was coated in a heavy layer of sweat.

The cool air wrapped around my body and chilled my heated skin. I began relaxing once more at seeing Paul sleeping peacefully next to me. My parents surprisingly suggested the idea of us sleeping together but with the small condition that their bedroom door and my bedroom door were to be left open at all times.

I was thankful my nightmare hadn't woken the both of us up because I don't think I would have been able to tell him the truth of this terrifying dream. My fears of Cole had seem to broaden to a fear of the pack and I couldn't live with myself if that were true- I knew they were nothing to be afraid of.

I continued sitting in the bed, looking out towards my window at the night sky and the moon. The window was open causing a much welcome breeze into my room ruffling against my pastel green curtains.

It wasn't until a moment later when I heard footsteps on the stairs that I realized I had gone to sleep with the window shut.

My frantic cry of Paul's name died in my mouth at the sight of Cole stepping into my room. Rather I was shocked into silence at his newfound appearance- how could he think to come here?

His hair that once reached his ears was now cropped short as the only thing he wore was a pair of his basketball shorts. It was evident that he gained more weight and height and rather than looking powerful, he seemed to hold an undeniable fear and reluctance towards me. The feeling's mutual.

"Luna," He whispered lightly, his eyes drifting towards my sleeping Paul. "I'm so sorry. I didn't ever mean to hurt-"

"Paul-" I spoke loudly at seeing Cole take a hesitant step towards my bed. When I saw Cole I couldn't help but see everything that happened that night, along with all my surfacing fears. It was like I was relieving it and I couldn't go through it all over again.

"Aurora, no! Please!" My brother pleaded holding out his hands and all that flashed over my eyes was his claws ripping at my side. I couldn't let him hurt me again.

"Paul!" I cried louder and my hand went to his arm in a desperate attempt to wake him up.

Cole still tried to plead with me even though my second attempt had woken Paul up in an instant. Despite the fact his body was laced with sleep, his grogginess went the away the second he understood Cole was just five feet from me.

"What the fuck are you doing here?!" Paul snarled, coming to my side of the bed and putting himself between me and Cole. "Why the hell are you even talking to her?"

"I live here!" Cole yelled back, "She's my sister, let me talk to her!"

"Get the hell out of here Cole- now!" Paul voice took on one of an authoritative tone and I could see Cole struggling against the command.
