Hello to you all (again!)! I'm just going to skip the author's note and cut right to the story! But first, thanks to my beta, Anna, for being amazing and helping me edit this story!

Sophie Foster POV:

Why did Physic need to go out to the most obscure place in the middle of nowhere to find these stupid phoenix tears? It wasn't like she couldn't find them at Slurps and Burps.

"I told you, it's complicated," replied Physic when I asked her for the fifth time.

"But - " intervened Fitz.

"No ifs, ands, or buts," interrupted Mr. Forkle. Seeing the blank stares that Biana, Fitz, Keefe, Linh, Dex, and Tam gave him, along with my horrified gasp, he asked, "What? It's a popular human saying."

"No, it's really not," I muttered, mortified. "That went out of style a long time ago."

"Did it?" asked Keefe, slinging his arm around my shoulder. "Then what's in style?"

"I'm - I'm not really sure," I stammered, my face going bright red at his touch. "I haven't been in the human world in a long time, s-so..."

Keefe gave his trademark smirk. "S-so?" he teased.

"Can you please remove your hand from my shoulder before I do so forcibly?" I snapped, going even redder, if that was possible.

"Lighten up a little, will you Foster?" he joked, before carefully moving his arm.

"Honestly, Keefe, it's really not funny," said Fitz sternly. "If Sophie doesn't like it, you shouldn't do it." He turned his annoyingly beautiful teal eyes onto me. "Right, Sophie?"

"R-right," I whispered, blushing cherry-red.

Mr. Forkle looked rather amused as he watched us bicker. "If you could kindly focus your attention on the shop rather than on your relationship troubles?"

"W-what?" I asked nervously. "We do not have relationship troubles!"

Keefe grinned. "Well, we kinda do, Foster."

"You do not!" argued Fitz, his incredibly beautiful teal eyes flashing with anger, which only made them even more beautiful - was that possible? Ahem. Sorry. Got a little carried away there.

Biana interrupted Keefe and Fitz's argument. "So... if you two are done arguing, we kind of have to shop?" Her eyes glinted dangerously. "Even if it is for ingredients."

"Oh no," Dex groaned. "Biana's going to go crazy." Then he self-consciously ran a hand through his hair, spiking it up so that it looked almost like Keefe's, but not as cute. Wait - what did I just think?
