Blaze's POV

I woke up and stretched. I couldn't stretch much, of course, due to my fractured ribs. Looking out the window i saw the beauty of the sunrise. Sunny was already up, at the window, and staring at her favorite thing in the world. We were always up early to watch the sunrise, it was part of our daily routine. I slid off the twin-sized bed and sat by the window as well. After about five minutes, i saw Cresselia waltz into the room through teleportation, give me a morning smile, and enter her pokeball. A few yawns later, Tyjore and Koari were up and moving, doing morning yoga. Yep. Thats a morning around my family. Sunshine and i watching the day begin, Cresselia returning from her night stroll, Tyjore and Koari starting yoga, and Mist just meditating to herself. We were all morning pokemon, liked the day. Though sometimes, when we stayed up quite late, we missed the routine. I rummaged in my bag for my clothes, the same ol' white undershirt i use for a nightshirt too, long black jean pants i wore to bed also, and a blue jacket that was slightly busted at the end of the zipper. My dad and i didn't have a lot of money, so i had to buy the same cheap outfit over and over. I didn't mind too much, it was actually quite comfy. I glided into the bathroom and washed up, throwing on my clean clothes after a warm shower. It is kind of weird, i can sorta take showers, i just have to focus on my human side extremely. Its tiring so i go with my normal self for the majority of the day. I can also go swimming, but im just not able to swim fast, i have to just float around. My necklace would not come off, at all. I've tried before. I'm guessing my father just kinda glued it to me for safety reasons. It is supposed to display emotions and be an emergency contact to him, if i am under a ton of stress or something like that. I left the bathroom after combing my hair, not that it was of much use for my naturally crazy hair, and shoved on my cap. "Alright guys, i'm gonna go ask Storm." I announced to my pokemon. "Alright, we'll be here if you need us." Koari said. "Hope it goes well. Tell me what she said afterwards!" Tyjore stated with a happy, smooth voice. Mist just nodded. I've never heard her speak for a long time. All i can remember is that it is a soft, lulling tone that you can get enveloped in. Its nice and relaxing. Sunny jumped atop my shoulder and spouted out, "i'm coming too!" In her glazed, chipper voice. "Alright. Be back for you guys in a minute!" I said over my shoulder as i headed out the door. I walked down to room 102 and knocked on the door. I heard awkward shuffling and Storm opened the door. She was in her white shirt she always wore and some baggy sweatpants. She had sleep in her eyes and she rubbed it out to see me better. "What?" She asked groggily. Im guessing that she isn't a morning person. Weird, i think morning are great. I'm also guessing now is not a good time to ask her. "You ready to go?" I asked instead. "Go? Go where?" She asked a little annoyed. "To your gym battle." She lit up at the words and replied with some more energy, "be there in a minute." I waited outside her door, on the railing looking down on the center until i saw Caos slide next to me. "Hey there Caos! Good morning!" He smiled, slightly groggy. "Terrible weather, eh?" He asked sarcastically. He was a jokester, and i liked having him around. I laughed. "Absolutely terrifying. The clear skies, the soft wind, the little patches of clouds." He went on. "Alright, i know. The weather is beautiful." We heard a voice behind us. Caos and I turned around to see Storm on the doorway, groggily putting her ponyata tail into the back of her cap. Shadow walked behind her and Crunch was hovering an inch above the ground, looking super tired. "Alright, alright lazy-pants here ya go." She pulled out his pokeball and the red beam dragged him inside. "You're gonna have to wake up before the battle." She said to the unmoving pokeball. It wriggled a bit in response. "So, let's head out! She said, pumping a fist in the air somewhat sleepily. "Hey, wait!" I stated and she grabbed me and started to pull down to the steps. "I don't have my pokemon!" I reared back when she let go. I rushed back into my room and called to everyone. "Let's go guys!" "Did you ask yet?" "No." We headed out and gave Nurse Joy her payment and the keys. "Hey, Storm?" I said as we made our way to the gym. "What?" She turned to face me, walking backwards. "Ya know, we have tagged along with each other for a while," i started. "Well, do you, um, want to travel together?" I blurted and just kinda smiled crookedly. She stared at me blankly for a while and shrugged. "Okay. Sure." Whew. That was nerve racking. We trudged along to the gym, complete with white and black dragons statues near the entrance. When we entered, there was a gigantic black dragon with buttons and switches all around on it. Storm dashed ahead and i struggled to keep up. We boarded the dragon and went through various complications. It was not exactly a walk in the park, that's for sure. Storm nearly ripped apart the whole contraption. We walked away from another beaten trainer, and then Storm was just fed up. The switches were leading us to random places instead of to the head. Storm's necklace turned a light blue and started to spark and crackle. Her necklace was like mine, it displayed emotion, or at least that's my hypothesis. Maybe all necklaces do that. Strange. She stamped her foot down on the robotic structure and it sparked too. i was shocked and just watched in silence. The robot dragon actually moved at the electricity and jolted down the buttons until we were at the last easy switch. Satisfied, Storm stomped down on it and rode happily to Iris' stand. I was still pondering over what i had just seen, so i missed Iris' intro. I snapped back to reality when Storm shoved me off to the stands. Iris sent out a Fraxure, who yelled out a triumphant, "All right!" When released. "Go, Crunch!" Storm threw out the large and now awake dragon. He let out a tremendous roar for affect, but the Fraxure still stood strong. "Aright Fraxure Dragon Rage!" The preppy girl commanded excitedly. "Fly up and avoid it!" Storms confident voice overpowered Iris'. Crunch did so, but the smart Fraxure lifted up her aim and hit Crunch. Iris smirked and her Fraxure did the same. When the explosion faded, Crunch was still high in the sky, smiling. "Dragon Pulse!" Storm announced before reaction was allowed on her opponent's faces. "Fraxure!" Iris called out all too late. Her fainted dragon lay on the battle field with shock plastered on her face. "Return!" The red beam engulfed Fraxure and put her back into a healing home. "Go Druddingon!" The blue dragon emerged and snarled at Crunch, who was in the air with dragon pulse fading away from his lips. "Revenge!" The dragon slowly charged her move, and slashed out at Crunch. Storm didn't bother, so the move hit Crunch strait on. He was strong enough to take it of course, and came out unscathed. "Dragon Pulse again!" Boom. One hit KO. Iris returned Druddingon with her shock replaced by anger. "Haxorus!" She screamed out, letting the giant emerge. The dragon let out a roar that was deep for a female, and faced Crunch with harsh eyes. "Alright, enough of this Hydreigon!" Iris shouted. "Dragon tail!" Haxorus powered her tail and heaved out at Crunch. Storm nodded to him, and he stayed put. She was brewing something. The move sent Crunch flying back as a beam of light to his pokeball. Who emerged from her bag was Caos, who took the stage somewhat silently. He didn't stare down Haxorus, which was a first. "Snarl." Storm said, arms crossed and smirk on her face. Caos bared his teeth and let the sound waves ram into Haxorus, so forcefully it spread around. I covered my ears and Sunny did the same to hers. Storm withstood it, same with Dusk. Haxorus was down. I was confused. Caos didn't know snarl. We hung out a bit and he explained he knew Grass Pledge, Frenzy Plant, Giga Drain, and Cut. Iris returned Haxorus and approached Storm. Grimacing, she handed her the Opelucid city badge. "You were lucky!" Iris exclaimed after Storm, with much delight, placed her brand-new badge into her case. "Calm down shortie. I beat you fair and square." Storm replied cooly. "No! Serperior can't learn Snarl!" Iris was fuming. Storm rolled her eyes and motioned to Caos, who slithered over. "Please explain why you know Snarl." She calmly. Then Caos rolled up in a flurry of red and transformed into Shadow. Then Storm looked at Iris with i-told-you-so eyes. Iris looked defeated. "I'm gonna kill you one day in battle! You won't be able to cheat then!" This girl was obviously not used to being defeated so quickly. Storm and i just made our way to the portal. "I'm gonna get stronger! I'm gonna defeat you! I'm gonna-" we stepped on the platform and whisked away to the beginning of the gym. We could still hear her screaming. "You little kid! I'm gonna kick yo-" Storm and i left the building and sat on a park bench. Storm let out all her pokemon except Darkrai and i sent out everyone except for Cresselia. "So what now?" Sunny asked. "We go kick that brat's butt!" Midnight replied. "Hold on a moment." Tyjore interrupted and scooped the map out of my bag. "Look here." She pointed to the mountain-ish platform at the top of the region. "That's where the elite four is stationed. You can battle them and, if you win, go against the champion!" "Why would i want to do that?" Storm scoffed lightly. "Because, then that brat will be determined to defeat you even more. Plus, since you pretty much defeat everyone you ever battle, she'll be even more crushed when she loses." Tyjore winked at Storm. I rescued her as a Meinfoo from a harsh battling trainer who would always push her too far. She was very experienced in battle, so she knew how to take down an opponent and make a scene. "Alright, what do ya'll think?" Storm asked her pokemon. All of them, including Shadow, replied in a strong "Yes!" "It's settled." Storm announced. "We are off!" I checked my Xtransiver for the time. 12:03 pm. "Um, we haven't eaten since yesterday." Crunch said when he saw my watch. "I'm starving!" He whined, and rubbed his stomach with his right head. Storm groaned. "Okay, okay ya big baby." She pulled out a bag of pecha, razz, and oran berries. "Alrighty. Crunch, here are your pecha berries," she handed three to the 'starving' dragon, "Shadow, your razz," he accepted them and nodded in appreciation, "Caos, i know you're allergic to razz berries so i got you a pecha," Caos grasped it with his mouth and stuck his tongue out the side of the fruit in a smiling way, "and for you and me, Midnight, some oran berries." She and Midnight 'clinked' berries and ate them. I sat down and unpacked another few cans of berries. "For you, Tyjore, some Enigma, Mist has Watmel, um, Koari here is your Yache can, and then we have Occa, Sunny!" "What kinds of berries are those?" Storm asked, wiping away some juice on the back of her hand. "Oh, i lived near the ocean. We have a different berry population that the forest." I explained. "Well that kinda makes sense. Is a yacht a boat?" "Yea, why?" "Because Yache sounds like yacht, and i think boats float on the ocean. Right?" She looked at me with her deep blue eyes in question. "Yes, boats do float. Thats kind of logic in the sea." I sighed, remembering the beauty of the shore. Her face reddened. "So, um, what does a flower smell like?" I asked a bit out of the blue. I've never really seen a flower before, never smelled one either. She stared at me like i was dumb. "Depends on the flower." She answered cautiously. We stopped talking after that. "Alright!" Caos had finished eating. "Let's go to the elite four!" Storm jumped up and Midnight hopped onto her shoulder. "Let's kick some butt!" He cried out triumphantly. I stood and Sunshine sashayed from the wall she was perched on and stepped down onto my shoulder. "Alright, we're off!" She let her cool voice pierce the sky as Storm raced away, dragging me in tow.
