Okay, serious talk though

Okay, serious talk though. I love J.C Hamilton a.k.a the first John Laurens fanboy but what's been done to the letters just frustrates me SO MUCH!

Some serious homo damage control was done to those letters, the censorship doesn't stop at those five crossed out words. I mean at least HALF of them are missing/destroyed and if we're gonna start pointing fingers we can probably blame J.C Ham for that one. And many of the letters we do have seem to be missing one or MORE pages, Laurens last letter to Hamilton seems to have been heavily redacted (and hard to say if it was only one letter or two written in a short amount of time. Short for Laurens standards I mean) which is interesting seeing that in what we do know of that letter Laurens says some of the most affectionate things we've seen him say.

By interesting, by the way, I mean SUSPICIOUSLY GAY.

And on top of the fact that is has been redacted J.C Ham destroyed the second letter after recording the closing.

And then there's also this one time in which all we see in a letter from Laurens to Hamilton is a line but later Hamilton seemed to have been responding to a whole letter so god knows what was written there.

These letters were censored basically three times I mean, first by writers themselves, second by J.C who, I get it, he was only protecting his father, BUT JESUS.

And then we have historians like Gregory D. Massey who literally cut off parts of the letters in his John Laurens biography.

And they still expect me to believe that they were just friends? Historians are just dumping heavily censored letters to our faces and expecting us to be like "nothing seems even slightly suspicious here,"

Yeah, right, the power of friendship does not do that. And the thing is they CAN uncensor them but they dON'T *agony sounds*

This was just supposed to be a short comic with some side commentary but it kinda just evolved into a rant about historians and censorship, oops. I apologize for that.
