Kara ended up in Alex's apartment late, right after a huge argument with Lucy over absolutely nothing. Alex, Ruby, Sam, and another woman with long black hair already sat around the table. Kara slipped off her coat and her shoes at the door as her niece came running over.

"Aunt Kara, I won my soccer game! I kicked the winning goal!" Ruby shouted.

"I knew you'd win! Great job, Rubes!" Kara exclaimed, pulling the girl into a gentle hug.

"Hey, Kara! She's hyped up on sugar because your sister had to get her whatever she wanted at the ice cream shop after the game." Sam called from the table.

"How's Lucy?" Sam asked,

"I don't really care right now. That sounds awful. It's just that she doesn't pay much attention to me anymore. I think we're pretty much over." Kara explained with a shrug.

"I'm sorry, Kar." Sam sighed.

"I'm not. I hate how she treats you." Alex smiled.

"Aunt Kara, we have potstickers. They always make you feel better." Ruby chimed.

"Kid, you can read my mind." Kara faked a smile as Ruby hugged her tightly. They made their way to the table, and Kara saw the face of the extra brunette, Sam's friend.

"Lena!" Kara exclaimed. Lena looked up quickly, shocked at the sound of Kara's voice.

"Kara? I didn't expect to see you until tomorrow." Lena replied, her eyes wide.

"I didn't know you and Sam were friends. I came to ditch my girlfriend for a bit, you probably heard all of that." Kara replied awkwardly.

"Yeah. Sorry about that." Lena smiled, her tone gentle.

"Lucy's just mean sometimes. I don't want to live with that." Kara shrugged, Lena nodded as Kara sat down next to her niece, who was bouncing in her seat.

"Aunt Kara, can you have a sleepover?" Ruby asked hopefully.

"Not tonight, Rubes. I have to talk to Lucy, then we can go out for misery ice cream and have a sleepover." Kara answered with a sad smile.

"Lucy's mean. I didn't like her." Ruby shrugged.

"Yeah, honey, but I did." Kara replied, biting her lip as noticed Lena staring.

"Okay, Aunt Kara." Ruby just continued to eat her food as Kara took the carton of potstickers. She only took two, and she didn't even eat them. It was just so that Alex didn't notice that she wasn't eating.

Dinner was over quickly, and Kara was waiting until Lena left so that she could fly home, but Lena seemed to be waiting for her.

"I'm going to go." Kara sighed finally, realizing that if she waited, she would end up crime fighting before bed again.

"I should, too. I have a coffee date tomorrow." Lena winked. "I'll walk you?"

"Sure." Kara shrugged. Lena followed her down the stairs of the apartment complex and down the street. Kara lived close. She even followed Kara to the door of her apartment. She just wanted to know Kara was home safe.

"Thanks for the company. See you at nine?" Kara asked. Lena simply nodded, finding herself staring at Kara's lips. Lena took a step closer, completely distracted by the beauty of the woman in front of her. Lena moved even closer, so that their lips were inches apart. Kara waited. She waited for the feeling of Lena's lips on hers. Lena finally closed the gap, the space between their lips nonexistent as Lena's body curved into Kara's. Kara's arms wrapped around her waist, holding her closer. Lena pulled her lips away, immediately realizing what she had done.

"I'm so sorry." She whispered. Kara turned her around slamming her against the apartment door and pinning her there as she resumed the kiss. It grew heated quickly, and Kara found herself digging for her key in her pocket blindly, still pressed against Lena. When she finally found it, she unlocked the door and pulled Lena in, shutting the door and picking her up. Lena wrapped her legs around Kara's waist, her fingers tangled in Kara's blonde hair. They were interrupted by someone clearing their throat. Kara set Lena down and turned around. It was Lucy.

"How'd you even get in?" Kara asked, shocked.

"I have a key. You know that." Lucy replied angrily.

"I'll just go..." Lena muttered, rushing out the door of the apartment.

"You lied to me. You cheated." Lucy spat.

"You yelled at me because I wanted to spend time with my family. You don't want to spend time with me other than sex, but you expect me to want to spend every second chasing after your attention. I was gone long before today." Kara replied.

"Was that your 'best friend'?" Lucy asked.

"That's all you care about? I was going to break up with you tomorrow, but I guess I'll do it now. It's not working, it just hurts to watch you pay more attention to crime than me." Kara shouted, slamming her hands down on the counter, which cracked under her strength.

"Fine. You know, Kara, I thought you would understand that sometimes, people have other things to do." Lucy crossed her arms over her chest as she made her way to the door.

"You have other things to do constantly! I leave meetings early, I ditch my niece and my sister, I drop everything for you, but you can't even tell your sister we have plans. This is completely one-sided." Kara shouted.

"Like hell it is! I left Lois for you tonight." Lucy protested.

"Because I was mad at you! You don't want to date me, you want people to think you're dating me. There's a difference." Kara insisted.

"Bullshit!" Lucy shouted.

"Just go, Lucy! It's over, I don't want to do this anymore!" Kara yelled, punching the counter again, which caved underneath her fist, shattering into tiny little pieces. Lucy backed away, shocked. Kara fell to the ground, tangling her hands in her hair. "Go, please. Please!" She sobbed. Lucy sat next to Kara as she cried, wrapping her arms around the broken superhero.

"I'm not going anywhere." Lucy whispered. Kara pushed her away gently, terrified of hurting her any more.

"I'm going. Please be gone when I get back." Kara mumbled, rushing out the door without her key and jumping into the first elevator she could, pulling off her glasses and button-up, revealing her supersuit.
