I'm back in my room moments later and I return to my position on the floor hugging my body. Again I cry myself to sleep in my dark room.

Loud noises of people yelling downstairs wakes me up and I stare with fright at the door. I can hear people running on the staircase and my body starts to shake as the footsteps near my room. The door is suddenly knocked from the frame and a flashlight covers my face.

"Don't touch me!" I screamed running to the corner of the room. "Don't touch me!"

The bright flashlight is removed from my face and a calm voice fills the room.

"Miss, we are the police. Are you injured?"

I stare shocked trying to accept the fact that I'm safe as tears stream down my face.

"Are you injured," the officer repeats

I shake my head and the over his radio I hear a voice say all clear. The light in the room turns on and I shield my eyes from the bright light.

I start sobbing as the officer leads me out of the room and outside. I'm walked to an ambulance where I'm checked out by a paramedic. My body still racks with shakes despite being wrapped in a blanket. And I'm poked with an IV in my hand.

I watch as police officers walk in and out of the house and are busy talking amongst each other. A squad car pulls up behind the ambulance and I cry out as I see Ryder and Ash jump out of the car.

I stand up from the gurney I'm sitting on and embrace my brother sobbing.

"I'm sorry," I cry into his shirt, "I'm so sorry."

He hushes me stroking my hair and I finally pull away wiping my face and my running nose on the blanket that's wrapped around me. I suddenly remember that Ryder is here too and I look around Ash to see him standing there with a solemn expression on his face.

The paramedic alerts us that the ambulance will be taking me to the hospital now.

"There's only room for one person," she says looking between Ash and Ryder.

"I'll just go," Ryder says.

"No, wait!" I exclaim. "Can you meet us there?"

He nods and hops onto the ground outside the ambulance. The doors are shut and the ride to the hospital begins. I lay down on the gurney as the medic attaches me to a blood pressure cuff and a heart rate monitor. Ash stays beside me holding my hand until we get there.
