New Paladin

Keith's POV

Man flying a lion is fucking sick. I destroy a bunch of ships in a few minutes. I can see the other lions.

Wait. The other lions! I need to help them!

I flew down to to the others and helped them.

I hear an incoming call.

Oh jeez I would press it but I just can't.

What if they don't want me to be a paladin?
What if they don't want a galra on the team?
What if they get mad that the princess isn't piloting her lion?
What if-

Calm down cub..

Ahh! Oh it's only you red..

I feel her calmness surge through me.

I decided to decline the call.

(Time skip)

Shiro's POV

Once we got back to the castle everyone immediately went to the red lions hanger. Who could it be? I mean maybe it's...could it be?

Keith?

I see the BOM running there too. They looked panicked.

We all went to the lion's mouth and waited for the paladin to come out.

We finally see the lion's mouth open to reveal that it's Keith!

I feel myself smile.

He ran out of the lion into Kolivan's arms.

The galras all huddled him and calmed him down.

Awww that's cute

He finally notices that we're all here and looks at us.

All of us looked amazed. Well I mean you can count Lance if you want to but he sort of looks more jealous then amazed.

"Um..hey guys.." Keith says awkwardly.

Pidge was the first one to speak up.

"Keith that was amazing!" She says as she jumps up and down. I swear this is on some sugar high.

"Uhh thanks." He says quietly.

I look at Allura.

She seems...lost.

Or confused.

Or angry

Or both.

She sighs and forms a smile. It kind of looks fake.

"Well as much as it is to dismay, congratulations Keith, you are now the Red Lion's paladin." She says sweetly.

Keith looks to her and forms a smile.

"It's my pleasure princess."

"Hey, how about we have a little party! To you know, celabrate that are new buddy Keith pilots the red lion!" Hunk exlaims.

We all murmured an agreement.

"Alrighty then! Let's start this! Who wants to help?"

Almost everyone goes to help even the BOM is coming too.

Just as Keith and I were about to leave the hanger with the rest something happens.

"Hey, Keith. Can we talk for a second?" I hear Allura say.

"Privately."

I look at him and give him a reassuring smile as I walk away.

"Yes..well you see here that I..."
