Max Pov:

"Daddy when are we going back to Uncle Edd and Uncle Matt?" Jackie asks Tom.

"I'm afraid we're not going back to them," Tom says.

"Why?" I ask.

"Uncle Edd and Uncle Matt aren't being very nice right now," Tom says.

"How are they not being nice?" I ask.

"They weren't allowing us to do important things that we needed to do," Tom says.

"What did we need to do that was so important that we had to leave?" I ask.

"Reasons that you'll understand when you're older," Tom says.

I hate being young. I want to understand! Why can't people tell us important things?!

*2 Weeks After Moving*

"This is so frustrating!" I say to Jackie as we walk down the base halls.

"Daddy told me once that if we don't pay a lot of attention to time, it'll go by like minutes," Jackie says.

Jackie's been trying to calm me down, but I'm really getting sick of people hiding things from us. For Heaven's sake they waited 4 days to tell us Tom was hurt!

"Time can't fool anyone Jackie, Tom's lying when he says that,"

"What do you mean? Daddy never lies,"

"And how do you know that?"

"I just know. Daddy had a good heart and people with good heart's don't lie,"

"Well people with good heart's don't hide things from people they love either,"

"He's probably doing this for our protection,"

"How is telling us why we moved going to hurt us?!"

"I don't know Maxie! All I know is Daddy has good intentions!"

"We don't know that for sure Jackie! He could be planning to do something bad!"

"Daddy would never do something bad!"

"You don't know that Jackie!"

"But I do know he isn't going to hurt anyone. He doesn't hurt people like Other Daddy does,"

"Who's Other Daddy?"

"The man with horns for hair,"

"What?! Are you really calling him your parent?!"

"Of course! He loves Daddy and Daddy loves him!"

"Why didn't I ever kno- ugh,"

"Other Daddy's nice,"

"He tried killing me,"

"He cares for Daddy,"

"He doesn't care for us though,"

"Larsin is Other Daddy's last name!"

"I WAS NAMED AFTER HIM?!"

"Mhm. I got named after Daddy! Thompson is Daddy's last name,"
