Vans (Archie)

"Mom I'm off"I said tying my vans.I grabbed my skateboard once I was done.

"Be careful"She yelled from the kitchen.I opened the door while pulling out my phone and putting on my music.I grabbed my backpack before closing the door.I slipped it on and sighed looking around.I pulled on the straps of my backpack a bit nervous seeing as it was getting dark.I shook the feeling off placing my board down.I looked to my left and right before finally getting on my skateboard,heading down the sidewalk.I skated around a bit admiring the scenery before crossing the street seeing a small diner.

"Pops"I read outloud before getting off my board and heading inside.Once I was inside I looked around the place feeling cozy almost instantly. I smiled at the older man at the register.

"You're new here right?"the man said.

"Yeah.Came all the way from Chicago"I responded as I kept admiring the small establishment.

"You like burgers?"I nodded my head looking back at the man.

"Sit down.I'll have one right out for you."I smiled to the older man once more before sitting at a booth.I placed my skateboard next to me pulling out my laptop from my backpack.I sighed as I opened the laptop.I opened a new sheet and started writing.I was soon lost in the writing that I didn't realize someone had joined me.

"You know this is usually my booth"I looked up and saw a guy wearing a beanie.

"Guess you'll have to share today"I said softly not wanting to make a scene on my first day here.

"You're new here aren't you?"I looked at him confused.

"It's a small town.We know when there is a newbie"I nodded my head as I put away my laptop.

"You're leaving?"I shook my head.

"Nah.It's better for me to know someone here then be the lonely loser.Sooo hello my name is Y/N"I said stretching my hand.He shook it and smiled.

"Jughead"I smiled back as a waiter brought us our food.I let go of his hand and looked at the food.

"Take a bite.You'll finally know what heaven tastes like"I laughed before picking up the burger and taking a bite from it.

"I regret not letting my mom bring me here sooner"I said instantly as he laughed.

"So where are you from?"I put the burger down wiping my hands.

"Chicago"I said getting up to order a shake.I sat back down once I was done.

"So you come from the windy city itself?I can imagine waking up everyday due to the cars honking"Jughead said taking the cherry off of my milkshake.

"It did get annoying at times but the view from my mom's apartment was breathtaking so I could never really complain"I said pulling out a polaroid from inside my phone case handing it to Jughead.

"You gotta take me one of these days.I do photography and must add pictures like these to my collection"I smiled at him.

"We'll see"Me and jughead talked for a bit more before I payed for my food and started heading home.I started humming along to "My Boy" by Billie Eilish getting lost in the music.I was so lost in the music that I didn't notice someone in front of me.Before I knew it we both crashed into each other.I groaned as I landed on top of the person.I scolded myself for paying more attention to the music then the real world.I got off the person before helping them up.

"I am so sorry.I wasn't looking where i was going."I said offering a hand as they gladly took it.The person finally got into the light and I froze up.

"God you are hot"I said instantly slapping my hand over my mouth.

"I-I-I mean are you ok?"I said as he smiled at me.

"Yeah sorry about that too.I was distracted and didn't see you."I laughed as I realized one of his shoes was gone.He looked down seeing why I was laughing.

"Find my skateboard and i'll find your shoe"I said smiling at him as he nodded.

"How do i know i can trust you?"I said suddenly

"You don't you just gotta take a chance"He said turning around to look for my board.I shook my head before i spotted his shoe.I grabbed it as i admired it.I could tell they were custom seeing as i had never seen this specific design of Vans.I then felt someone staring at me.I came back under the light post.

"Y/N"I said handing him his shoe.

"Archie"I grabbed my skateboard putting it down.

"See you around redhead"I said winking at him befoevriding off.

'Wait"I stopped and he catches up to me.

"There's this thing going on with my friend next weekend would you like to come?"I smiled at him.

"Sure Archie.Meet me at Pops at 4 tomorrow"He nodded his head before I rode off.I smiled brightly as I now layed on my bed thinking of the possibilities of tomorrow.
