I smiled as I looked in the mirror seeing the black dress I had picked out for the party. It was tight at the top but became loose at the bottom. I grabbed my purse and headed out the door seeing as Peter was already here.

"Hey" I said as I jumped into the car. He put his phone away and gave me a quick kiss before starting his car and heading to the party.

2 Hours Later

"Hey" I said as I wrapped my arms around Lara-Jean's shoulder.

"Hello" She said giving me a hug.

"I never thought you were much of a party girl" I said as she wrapped her hand around my waist.

"I thought about what you've been telling me and I would like to party at least once in my highschool year instead of regretting it later" She said smiling.

"I'm so proud of you" I said patting her head.

"I'm sad I will be leaving tomorrow. I'm gonna miss you" She gave me a sad smile.

"Don't think about that now. Let's just relax and have fun on your last night here before you move to Chicago" I nodded my head and then I looked around the room and realized Peter was nowhere to be seen. I dropped my hand from Lara-Jean's shoulder and she gave me a concerned look.

"What's wrong?" She asked.

"I don't see Peter" I said worriedly.

"I'll look down here and you look upstairs" I nodded my head as she let go of me and I headed upstairs. I checked every room and then I went to open the bathroom. I stopped midway hearing a voice.

"We have to be quite Jen" My eyes widened realizing who the voice belonged to.

"Of course we don't wanna get caught" I then heard muffled sounds. I wiped away the stray tears contemplating on opening the door.

'He wouldn't do that to you...would he?' I shook the thought out of my head and opened the door. Time seemed to stop as I realized that my nightmare now turned into a reality. There stood Peter with his ex. His shirt already off. He looked up and then his eyes widened. I gave him a harsh glare before slamming the door and running down the stairs and out the door. I ran as fast as I could thanking myself for wearing converse instead of heels. I slowed down a bit as I realized it was now drizzling.

"Y/N!!!" I turned around quickly realizing Peter was following me. I started running again ignoring the calls of Peter. Once I got home I was soaking wet seeing as the rain got heavier.

"Don't let Peter inside, please" I said to my parents on the way up to my room. I quickly got some dry clothes before hopping in the shower trying to get myself warm. I was out and changed in 30 minutes. I threw myself on my bed before cuddling up to a pillow. I thought about the event that happened tonight and was happy knowing I found out myself instead of hearing it from someone else.

"Maybe Chicago will be different" I whispered before getting up and placing the last bit of my stuff in a box.

Next Day

"I'll miss you Lara-Jean" I said as tears welled up in our eyes.

"Come and visit" She said as she gave me a tight hug.

"You can count on it" I said pulling away and getting into the car. I sighed sadly knowing Peter was not going to come.

'That shouldn't matter. He cheated. You will find better' I thought as I wiped a stray tear. I put my headphones in and started my music as the car began to move. I gave one last wave to Lara-Jean before she disappeared into the distance.

2 Years Later

"YOU'RE COMING BACK!!!" Lara-Jean yelled through the screen.

"Yeah. Figured I could do my last year there so i'm coming back...and i'm bringing someone with me" I said as she tilted her head confused.

"You remember Shawn right? Him and our family go way back so his parents decided it was a great idea for both of us to visit our old hometown" She smiled at me seeing as I had once brought him up in conversation and explained everything to her.

"Who will you be staying with?" She asked.

"My aunt and he will stay with his grandparents" I said as she raised an eyebrow.

"So you're parents and his parents trust you guys not to fool around?"She asked. I rolled my eyes looking down at the ring Shawn had given me.

"We know better Lara-Jean" I said sternly.

"I will finally be able to see that ring he gave you" She said excitedly. I rolled my eyes.

"He makes you really happy doesn't he?" I nodded my head.

"I think he's the one" She squealed in delight.

"You know he hasn't been the same without you" I stiffened up knowing who she was referring too.

"He let her touch him when we were still together. There's a small part of me that still loves him I won't lie...but i'm with someone who treats me right. I can't dwell up in the past anymore " I said and she nodded her head.

"Just talk to him ok?" I looked at her and hesitantly nodded.

"We'll see" I said as I sighed. We talked that whole night figuring out what we will be doing once I arrived.

2 WEEKS LATER

"You're actually here" Lara-Jean squealed as she hugged me knocking us both down.

"C'mon" She said before pulling me off the floor and running outside.

"Lara-Jean slow down" I said and she abruptly stopped. I stopped as well trying to catch my breath.

"We have to wait for Shawn and your dad" I said and she sighed before her eyes widened.

"I forgot you brought him!" She said squealing in delight as she grabbed my hand admiring the promise ring Shawn had gotten me.

"It's so unique" She said running her fingers through the details of the ring. The ring itself was in the shape of a leaf all around with tiny colorful stones.

"We got matching ones the only difference is that he decided just to put blue gems" I said as she smiled.

"I haven't seen a smile like that in years" She says softly as her Dad and Shawn finally caught up to us.

"Jesus Christ you guys are fast" Shawn said as he struggled to breathe. I chuckled at him before we all headed to the car stuffing our luggage in the back.

"Do you guys want to come over for dinner?" Lara-Jean asked excitedly. I looked over at Shawn and saw he was sleeping.

"As much as I want to...I think today me and Shawn will settle in" She smiled sadly but understood.

"Maybe next Friday? And then over the weekend you can help us get ready for school" She nodded her head as her Dad had pulled up to Shawn's destination.
