"Psst!"
I instantly rolled my eyes all the way back, until they hurt.
"Pssssssst!"
Clicking my pen repeatedly, I stared down at my english notebook. I had just jotted down various notes about myself that I thought others might want to hear about. Might.
"Pssssst!"
I sucked in a breath and turned to look behind me. Gen smiled wide, waving. "Hiii!" she whispered.
"Hi." I whispered back, turning around quickly.
Gen had been scheduled with my and Peter's same English class. I felt her foot behind my chair as I read what I had written.
1. I have a fear of heights.
2. I tried ballet when I was five but was too shy to twirl in front of everyone, so my mom took me out.
3. I then tried hip hop at seven, but I was still shy, so that didn't work out too well.
4. I like strawberry flavored jello.
I pushed my glasses up and out of habit, looked to my left. The seat was empty which made class feel longer and more boring than ever. I looked up at the clock wondering where on earth my English partner was. He was rarely ever absent.
The bell rang and Ms. Powell called me over to her desk. I gulped and pressed my notebook tightly to my chest.
"I just wanted to see what you have so far on your assignment. " she stated.
"Um, I just finished jotting some stuff down about myself. It's not much..."
"Brilliant. Show me."
Ms. Powell held her hand out for my notebook. I looked down at my navy blue converses. "Um..it's n-not that good. "
"It's alright, Kizlyn. I just want to see where you are. I know you're an amazing writer, I've read your essays. I actually picked this assignment topic to see what you could possibly do."
I frowned. "Why me?"
She smiled. "Kizlyn, you have talent when it comes to writing. However, for every creative writing assignment I give, it's like you forget how good you are and the work you turn in, is... well, boring."
