Wings

Ravensight's P.O.V

"We can't just leave her!" I cried at my 'loyal' crew. "She's dead, there's no way she could've gotten free from that weight and rope," Hurricane said sternly. She's so stubborn, I know she's jealous of the captain's daughter... I thought to myself.

Aquafina was the original captain of this ship, I was his deputy for about two years then we just stopped going on adventures. He said he found a treasure he could not dare to lose. I later found out it had been his wife, Grimoire. He left his old life behind for a siren...

"Hurricane, yer a mermaid! Ye can save her!" I shouted at her and her eyes widened in realization. In that instant, her and her sister, Tsunami, jumped off the ship and into the waters. I began to pace, my mind racing like a tsunami. What if she was dead? She couldn't be dead, her father taught her to swim. He was an Olympic swimmer for Poseidon's sake!

Muttering and cursing under my breath, I paid no mind to those who tried to comfort me. I was dead salmon if Aqua found out his daughter was dead. "Ravensight!" I heard Tsunami say, it was as if she had been repeating my name. Turning, I looked at her, waiting for her to voice the grim news. "We just found the weight, further off we saw two cross bloods next to a rowboat. Luna is alive," she said and relief flowed into my system.

"What we be waiting for? Let's go get her!" I said, turning to the helm. "We can't exactly do that, some of the Sun's embers are with her. They would kill us in an instant. Especially since we are more aquatic... We couldn't stand to fight against fire," she said, shooting down my hope. Grumbling, I turned around, "Then what'd be we doing? If Aquamarine finds out his daughter be kidnapped we all be turned into his next meal," I said, sounding as if I were afraid of our former captain.

It was true, I am afraid of Aquamarine... I have seen his strength without magic and it's petrifying. I couldn't even imagine him so enraged that he would use magic. Just the thoughts of facing the enraged aquatic dragon sent shivers through my core and back. "...You've seen him mad?" Tsunami asked, appearing to be both curious and in awe. "Of course I have! Just seeing him mad as a human is petrifying enough! We have to get Luna!" I squawked like a bird.

At my words, the calm and appeasing mermaid spoke, "Look, why don't we go and get Luna after a while... Maybe near sun fall... But we can't just dive into action without a plan. Remember, Aqua did that and now he's a drug addict!" quirking a brow, I muttered, "I don't really see the comparison but I get your point. The first ray that has been lost from the sun is when we will leave," I said in the words of a captain.

Tsunami sighed and walked away, knowing that arguing will be useless. Not only was I afraid of facing the monstrous beast known as Aqua, but I was also worried about Luna. Her entire world was just ripped from her, she was fine with how she lived. It wasn't the same story for me, I had run away from my home tribe in South Africa... I was going to be hung for my crimes. Shaking my head, I took a deep breath and I began to plan was I waited for the first ray to vanish.

Right once my feet hit the sand I shivered. It was the first time in a long time that I had set foot on anything other than the S.S Leviathan. Looking around, I could see that this island was inhabited by animals, not humans. Taking a deep breath, a small amount of my crew and I began to search for Luna.

Aquafina had told me that Luna was hunted, but I didn't understand why and especially now. She was being hunted by some of the Sun's Embers. They are highly ranked soldiers that are in a religion that worships the day. Why would they be after her? I thought as we scanned the area for any signs of the troops or Luna.

That's when I saw blood. Nearby, I saw a figure slumped in the underbrush. No... No, it can't be... I thought as I raced to the body.

"Luna!"
