Did I hear that right? Briar is the one who is pregnant, and she lied to us and led us to believe that Berkeley was pregnant. Why would she do something like that? We could've gotten Berkeley killed!
"Why would you lie to us about that?" I ask her.
"I didn't want anyone knowing." Briar explains to us. "I thought you guys and Myles would hate me and judge me, seeing as I'm only 17 years old."
"We would never hate you or judge you for something like that, b." Alex reassures her.
"You could've told us earlier." Dylan tells her. "We would've helped you out."
"Thank you." Briar says quietly. "I am so scared, you know. With everything going on with Shelby and Berkeley, and now the pregnancy, I just feel so lost."
Suddenly the door opens and Myles is standing in the doorway with a look of both disbelief and hurt on his face.
"You're pregnant?" Myles asks Briar, sounding more hurt than anything else.
"Myles I'm so ... " Briar trails off.
"Yes or no, B?" He asks her sternly.
"Yes." Briar mutters, just loud enough for Myles to hear.
I look at Dylan and Alex who look really uncomfortable as they watch both Myles and Briar. I have to admit this is probably one of the most awkward and uncomfortable situations I have ever been in. Myles is clearly hurt by the fact that Briar told us she was pregnant before she told him, and Briar is scared out of her mind. But as much as I want to be there for my friend, I think that this is a battle she'll have to fight on her own.
Dylan, Alex and stand up and walk out of the room. I put my hand on Briar's shoulder and say, "We'll give you two some space, and we'll be in the living room if you need us." I walk out after Dylan and Alex. I really hope they can sort everything out.
