"Thank you," Lauren replied. "The drinks are on me. Cheers!"

Lauren's workmates cheered and raised their glasses before drinking it.

"You really deserved the promotion. Your hardworks have been paid off! Congratulations!" Lauren's workmate said.

Lauren Michelle Jauregui is at the top of her game and has been promoted as the CEO of the company she has been working for for years.

"Thank you guys so much. That means a lot to me," Lauren replied with a wide smile on her face.

She scanned through the crowd and saw a woman wearing a knee-length white button-up shirt with a mask on her face and an angel wings just watching her. She was about to catch the attention of the mysterious woman thinking that she is one of her co-workers but the woman walked away and left.

"Weird," Lauren told herself before shrugging off her thoughts. "Uhmm, anyways, let's enjoy the night!"

Everybody went to the dance floor except for Lauren who just chose to stay on the couch at the VIP Area and drank. She couldn't help but think about that mysterious girl she saw earlier.

"I'm not high... Or am I? " Lauren asked herself. "It's hard to tell nowadays."

She enjoyed her bottle of whiskey as she watched the people dance to the beat. Her scanned through the club hoping she would see that angel-figured woman again.

"Hey, mami," a guy said and sat next to her. "Your lips look lonely, wanna let them meet mine?"

"Ugh, no, thanks," Lauren said as she rolled her eyes in disgust.

"I'm sorry, where are my manners," the guy said while giving his hand. "My name's Ty."

"Okay," Lauren replied without looking at Ty.

Ty shook his head and smirked.

"Feisty woman, I like it," Ty said and drank. "What are you doing here alone? Why won't you join your friends there?"

"I'm not in the mood for dancing. "

"Well, maybe you're in a mood for something else? Come with me and I'll give you a night to remember."

Lauren placed her glass on the table and faced Ty who is smiling widely at her. He lifted Lauren's chin with his index finger and Lauren placed her hand on his cheek.

"That's right, baby, I know you want me too, " Ty said.

"Yeah."

Lauren smiled and landed a slap on Ty's cheek that made him caress it. It felt like a train hit him so he massaged his jaw as she watched Lauren leave.

"Fucking asshole," Lauren cussed as she found her way to the toilet. "It'll take more than that to get to me. "

She inhaled and looked herself in the mirror and washed her hands before going out.

"Hey, why do you look upset?" One of Lauren's co-workers, Dinah, said while raising Lauren's face. "It's your night! You should have fun. "

"Thanks, " Lauren replied. "Some dude just ruined my mood. "

"Is that so? Don't worry, the night is young, you can still have a night to remember."

Lauren smiled as she looked at Dinah but was distracted when she saw a woman with that angel wings looking at her from the back.

"Uhm, can I leave you for a moment?" Lauren asked.
