[Emmett's POV]

     My name is Emmett Cullen. I have been eighteen years old for a very long time. I have a secret. I'm a vampire. One night my family discovered a new form of vampires. They were different than us, more alive. They agreed to make us like them, so now we no longer sparkle in the light, nor do we feel as cold and dead as rocks.
     They only brought one disappointment with them. Klaus. He brought his charm, and eventually he stole my mate from me. Rosalie doesn't call anymore, and she doesn't visit. It's like she's dead; which would probably hurt less. I thought vampire mates were supposed to be forever, but more than one rule changed the night we got our heartbeats back. 
     We all look normal now, but I feel even more different. This agony has transformed me. I'm not suited for my old life anymore. I need a change. I need to be happy, or at to least try. I know I will never love another woman, not for the rest of my life, but I can't waste years in depression either.

[Lucas's POV]

     My name is Lucas Everett. I am seventeen years old, and I have a secret. I'm gay. I always dream I'll be able to find someone to love me in this backwoods town in Georgia, but I doubt it. I open my eyes reluctantly, before forcing my body out of bed to begin yet another day in my endless routine. I really need a change.
