Mikey's Worry

Mikey was skipping around the Ulixes, a happy expression on his face. He had just finished watching an episode of Chris Bradford and His Too Rough Crew (A/N: I think that's what it is anyway. It's been a while lol)

Humming a tune, he went to get a pizza, only to notice Raph and Mona Lisa eating together, on a date. Mikey watched them from afar.

His expression upset, and worried. Mikey's thoughts raced on. He hopes Raph doesn't leave them for her. He'll miss his big brother so much. He doesn't want him to leave! Mikey's mood went from happy to sad in less than a second.

He ran to his room on the Ulixes with tears in his eyes, but not before his big brother, Raph, heard him. Raph was laughing, sitting in front of Y'Gythgba, a.k.a. Mona Lisa, when he heard running footsteps and turned in that direction.

He went from happy to concerned when he saw Mikey's retreating form heading to the "bedrooms". He turned back to Mona. "I-I'll be right back, Mona," Raph told her. Mona nodded, sensing the concern in Raph's tone of voice.

She waited there as she watched Raph jog towards the sleeping quarters. Mona's mind was running as she thought of why Raph's concern spiked high out of nowhere.

Turning back to her food, she suddenly had an idea. She walked over to the mind-food-programmer thing, and beamed up something. She had a feeling she knew who made Raph so concerned. And Mona had a feeling she knew why. So, she decided to try and cheer him up.

With Raph

Raph slowed his jog to a walk as he reached the sleeping quarters. His heightened hearing (due to being ninja) picked up the sound of muffled sobbing.

Raph's concern shot through the roof. Why was his baby bro crying? What's wrong, Mike, Raph thought to himself. His brow furrowed, and his lips pulled down into a frown.

Raph walked over to where Mikey sleeps, wondering what made Mikey so sad. Now in front of his baby brother, Raph's eyes softened as tears were brought to his own eyes.

Mikey looked miserable. Tears streaming out of his puffy eyes, sliding down his cheeks. Raph noticed Mikey's face burrowed in a pillow. He crouched beside the bed, reached over, and gently pulled the pillow out of Mikey's arms.

He watched Mike's head shoot up to meet who was with him. Raph stood up from his crouched position and sat next to Mikey, his heart clenched in worry and concern. "Mike, what's wrong?" Raph asked. He watched Mikey look up at him, sniffling.

Mikey hesitated to give Raph his answer. Will Raph get mad at him? Will he leave them? He hopes his answer won't spike Raph's rage.

"I-I....I don't want you to leave us..." Mikey whispered. Raph was confused. What did Mikey mean by that? "Whadda ya mean, Mike?" Raph questioned.

Mikey stayed silent. He knew Raph would get mad! "N-Nevermind. It's s-stupid, anyway," Mikey stuttered. He put the pillow over his head, scrunching his eyes shut.

Raph's eyes narrowed in worry. "Mike, it's not stupid if it made ya cry. Please, baby bro. Talk ta me. Tell me what's wrong," Raph pleaded.

Mikey froze. Raph said please?! Has the world come to an end?! He took the pillow off his face and looked back to Raph.

"I saw how happy you were with Mona, and I just got this crazy idea that you would leave us and go with her. I-It's nothing, really," Mikey told Raph, chuckling nervously.

Raph felt angry. But he wasn't angry at Mikey. He was angry at himself for not noticing Mikey's dilemma earlier. Raph gently grabbed Mikey's shoulders and sat him up to look him in the eye.

"Mike, it's not nothin'. Ya were cryin'. And I was the cause of it. I'm not angry with ya. I just wish ya woulda told me this sooner," Raph hugged Mikey, "and I can promise ya I ain't leavin' ya anytime soon."

Mikey smiled. He's glad to know his brother won't leave him. Returning the hug, Mikey's smile morphed into a grin. "I knew you were a softie," Mikey sighed happily.

Raph rolled his eyes, but smiled nonetheless. He loved his brothers with every fiber of his being. And if it means he has to be a softie for them to be happy, then so be it.

Raph and Mikey finally pulled away from the hug. Mikey wiped his cheeks and eyes of any remaining tears. They smiled at each other, then were startled by a cough.

The two brothers turned to see Mona Lisa holding a tub of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream, smiling at the Kodak moment. "I figured Michelangelo was upset. So, I brought something to cheer him up," Mona smiled.

Mikey squealed when seeing the ice cream. He reached to grab it, along with one of three spoons Mona had. He popped off the top and dug into the tub. Raph and Mona joined. They all talked and laughed while eating the ice cream.

Two figures smiled at the three, happy that the youngest was okay. "You know," the purple-masked one said, "I'm really glad I got a picture of Raph and Mikey hugging. It was a real Kodak moment."

The blue-masked one nodded, agreeing with the other. He was personally relieved that Raph was staying, and wasn't going to leave them. He didn't know what he'd do if Raph up and left.

The two figures just smiled and watched on as everything in that moment seemed like everything was going to be okay. But only the future knows of the times to come.
