Auntie Zoe yes Jezell I am looking for a summer job do you know where I can start at? Yes, there are a lot of places in the town that are hiring teens for summer jobs. What kind of work are you looking for Jezell? Well, Auntie, I can type pretty and I know how to work a computer.  I am sixteen and I have been working since I was thirteen. Really what kind of work have you done? I worked as a Runner in a Dentist office mailing letters going for coffee and sometimes when the assistant had something out of the office they let me answer the phone and schedule appoints for the patients. I worked beautification and got my hands dirty and enjoyed it.  We cut grass on empty lots picked up paper.  Last year I was a computer tutor there were ten children and gave a test to them and gave that information to the real teacher so that she can determine if they are learning and if they should pass. Last summer I answered the phone for a law firm. I took messages and scheduled clients to come in to see their attorney.  Wow, Jezell you did a lot of jobs. I like working and making my own money so that  I don't have to ask her for money when I don't have any. I even have a bank account. I'm saving to buy myself a nice car for my graduation present I am in the eleventh grade so I have a year and a half to go before I go to college. So, Auntie, do you know anyone that can help me? Yes, I do and I will call her today and set up a meeting for you and her to meet in the morning.  Ok, thanks, Auntie.  Jezell I spoke to Oya and she will meet with you at noon today. What should I wear? Wear a dress with some sandals.  Here are her phone number and address for you to meet her. Ok, thanks. Auntie I got the job said Jezell. So what will you be doing? I am working at a fitness center opening up and answering the phone taking messages for the workers I will work five hours a day for five days a week. Did you fill out an application and stuff? Yes, I did. So how much will you be making an hour? Ten dollars an hour. That's great. When do you start? I start tomorrow from twelve noon to five p.m. I like the hours that gives me time to get ready and eat and make myself a lunch. Great now I can help your sister because she wants a job also. Hey, Auntie said Jezell I think that Espen Jr. wants a summer job also.  Ok, I will talk to him.  Hey Alina can I talk to you now? Yes, Auntie. So Alina have you ever worked before? Last summer was my first job I did beautification around the city.  And the summer before that I had to go to summer school for English so I didn't have the chance to work.  So what kind of job are you looking for Alina?  Well, last summer's job was pretty good but this time I want to be a little more relaxed easy. Well, I called a friend that runs a grocery store and she needs someone to work the front register and do some light stocking she has another person that will do most of the stocking and maybe some of the time he might need your help. Does this sound like something you would want to do? And if it does then you need to go and meet her at three today at the store. Go upstairs and change clothes put on a dress and look neat. So how did everything go for you, Alina? Is this what you want to do? Yes, I like it Auntie and I start tomorrow from ten in the morning until five p.m.  I like my hours because that gives me time to get ready and eat and maybe sometimes I will make me a lunch to carry. Now I have one more person to help find a job. Espen can I talk to you? Yes, mother. Come to the T.V. room. Yes, mom. So you are looking for a summer job? Yes. What kind of work do you like to do because the only other person I know that can give you a summer job is my friend at the museum it's a natural history museum it includes current historical records of animals, plants, ecosystems, geology, paleontology and more. Do any of these things interest you? Yes, it sounds interesting. When do I start? Well, I set up an appointment for you to go and meet with him at nine in the morning and make sure you dress nice but casual. So how did it go? I got the job and I like the job. When do you start?
