The temple loomed over the crew as the arrows came from behind, barely denting their armor.
"Jake, take cover!"
Jake ducked as Addie shot an arrow, nailing a skeleton and knocking it off the spider.
"Jack! Hurry up!"
Jack nodded as he pushed the doors apart, the stone's weight taking a toll on his arms as his teammates slipped through, the zombies starting to pick up the pace.
Jake reached back and pulled Jack through, sealing them off from the mobs in a dimly lit room.
Jack looked everyone over, sighing in relief as he counted five other living, breathing people.
"Split up; Ivor said the portal was here and had to be destroyed."
The others nodded and split up, Jake and Jay going upstairs while Jack and Tina searched another room, which was empty, but in the year they'd been the Dragonhearted they'd learned to never underestimate anything.
"GUYS!"
The other four raced up to see Jay trying to break a portal, Jake planting a few explosives.
"GET DOWN!"
Jake lit the TNT and everyone raced down, an explosion sounding as mobs announced their arrival.
"I'm going in to check."
