Gavin's POV
——————————————————————

I wanted to get up and get away. Get food. Coffee. Something else other than this... this affection.

But that plastic prick rubbing my back and dead ass silent was actually kinda nice.

Not something I've had in a long time...

That goes for both someone giving me affection and someone being silent.

The last time something like this happened was when I had my last boyfriend. God, he wouldn't shut up. Ever. Reminded me of a basic bitch chick who couldn't shut the hell up about Starbucks or the last episode of their show. Or whoever the hell Brett is.

I put up with it though... as much as I would've liked him not to sound like a bird at 5am when it just starts getting light out.

TWEET TWEET TWEET!
Like, geeeez can you not??

I talk shit about him, but actually... he was nice. I enjoyed my time with him. But there was one big problem neither of us could get past.

He cheated on me.

With some whore with big tits and blonde hair.

He was gay as hell, so honestly the first time he mentioned it I put it off as a joke. Teased him about it actually.

But when I opened the bedroom door that one night... I only wished it was a joke.

"Detective, your heart rate has increased. Are you okay?" The android asked, snapping me out of thought.

I nodded and hid my face further into it's neck.

The machine sighed, and stopped rubbing my back. Hands resting there. Like anxiety inducing weight.

"I'm built for combat, and solving crimes, Gavin. I can tell when someone's lying." It said, voice deadpan.

"Phck off!" I replied, shooting to sit upright.

"Gav-"

"No! Don't you dare!" I cried, going to get up. To get away.

It grabbed my waist and held me in place.

My heart jumped into my throat.

"Hey. Look at me." It pleaded, voice soft.

"No! Let go of me!"

"Gavin! Stop being irrational!" That damned machine...

Who am I kidding? It's right.
I am being irrational.

It smiled a bit. Not devilish, but warm.
"There. Hey, tell me what's wrong."

I let my spine relax. And slumped down to lay with my back against the back of the couch. Legs going over the android.

It turned and looked at me, hand on my thigh, "You weren't like this five minutes ago. You were actually okay with my presence. What happened?"

I lowered my gaze.

"Gavin?" It asked after a few minutes.

"What? Am I not allowed to be human?" I asked, voice quiet.

It's blue eyes stared into my sole.
"That wasn't normal. That was a mood swing at best."

I sighed and nodded.
"Yeah... it was."

"Come here." It practically asked, arms open like a child.

I hugged it and relaxed again.

"I gotcha... I gotcha, Gavin." He whispered.

I grabbed onto his black shirt and nuzzled my head into his neck.

He whispered to me until I was back at a neutral mood. If anything, somewhat happy.

I leaned up and looked into his blue eyes.

Then kissed him.

The android jolted, LED spinning yellow for a second.

I chuckled and closed my eyes.

It kissed back, mouth surprisingly warm.

When I pulled back his face was a light shade of blue.

I snorted.
"Wow, actually managed to surprise you, huh?"

The android opened his mouth before closing it and exhaling.

LED spinning yellow.

Then red.

"Woah, hey. Chill out." I chuckled.

The android sat up with a whirring noise.
Fans?

Then pulled up his shirt, I leaned away sputtering and laughing in surprise.

Then he, in a quick motion, grabbed a port in his chest and it unlocked with a hiss. Chucking it across the room.

"What the fuck Nines?!" I yelled, a name just slipping from my lips.

I shot up to grab the biocomponent.

It must've rolled under something because I couldn't find it.

I bent down and saw it under a chair.

My arm barely fit, but I grabbed it and went back to the android.

Their face was blank and LED colorless.

My heart stopped. I froze.

"No, no, no, no... come on. Come on!" I begged, plugging the biocomponent back in with a click.

He shot upright and eyes fluttered for a second.
"Hello, I am the new RK900 model. Faster, stronger, and more new functions than the last RK model. How may I be of service?"

I stared at it with a shocked face. Heart sinking and shattering.

It looked at me with a cold expression. That... that cold expression it always had.

It wasn't him.
It wasn't him!

The android cackled before putting a hand on my shoulder.
"Your face was priceless!"

I punched him as hard as I could in the arm.

Then hugged him as tightly as I could.
"you fucking asshole! Scared me to death!"

He hugged me back, and leaned his head onto mine, "I'm sorry, Gavin. My biocomponent suddenly overloaded. My knee jerk reaction was to remove the problem, and component in the process."

I didn't care. I was happy he was okay.

"Why'd you do that?!" I cried, pulling back.

"Thought it would be funny." He stated.

I went to punch his arm again, but stopped and just held his upper arm.

My head fell and I rested my temple on his.
"God..."

My brain realized something.
I sat back up.

"Wait, you having been following your protocol? Your- uh, what's it called... programming!" I asked.

He chuckled.
"No shit."

I smiled.
"Welcome to deviancy, bitch."

He laughed.
"No... I've been a deviant for a while, actually."

I blushed and nodded.
"O-oh. That's... cool."

He smirked.
"Yeah?"

I leaned away.
"Yes..?"

The android laughed.
And god, it was cute.
