"If you are serious about teaching there..."

"You would need to move to that island."

The chance to become a teacher has suddenly appeared.

But it is not an easy decision to make.

She puts off making a decision just yet and we return to the Famille' together.

"Ah! W-welcome back! Greeted Rei with a worried expression.

"You two are late..." wallowed Yomiko

"R-right...sorry about that."

"We were all worried you know." Said Raika.

"And after seeing Miyoko so depressed we thought something might have happened..." worried Kasumi.

"I'm sorry for making you worry guys." Answered Miyoko.

She turns her head away, as if unsure of something.

Before deciding to tell everyone about her news.

"Um...Do you all have a moment?"

"What is it?" replied Raika while guiding Miyoko to sit next to them.

"Well, the thing is..."

"I might be able to get a teaching job..."

Their expression quickly changes to a joyous but returned to a worried one by the sense on how Miyoko delivered it to them.

"And the catch is..." said assuming there would be one.

"You see..."

All eyes on Miyoko, waiting for her explanation, but the longer she talks for the darker their expressions become.

"Well, I have to move on to Shinjuku to teach."

"S-shinjuku?! But's that a remote island from the south..." said Yomiko with a surprised awe.

"I see..."

Raika nods sagely, as Rei whispers.

"Ten hours Perry ride to that island...That is pretty far..."

"Yeah..."

"But if you do go there you will have your dream job for a year, won't you?" presumed Kasumi

"That's true, but..."

She glances over me.

I know what is it she wants to say...

(If she decides to go, that throws us into a long distance relationship...)

You could say that it's only a year.

(I hate the idea of being apart from her for even a year...but.)

The atmosphere in the room is indescribable.

Then...

"Miyoko..."

Tegemi clears the air with her gentle tone.

"You don't need to decide right away, do you?"

"No..."

"Then I think you should rest for today."

"You can take the time to think about moving to the island later."

The other girls nod in unison.

"That's right Miyoko. You look really tired right now. You should rest." Supported Rei

"How about you get an early night too, Mina?" said Yomiko worriedly

"Ah, right..."

I do feel exhausted.

"Sh-should we go up to each of our rooms now, Miyoko?"

"Yeah..."

I lead her out of the living room.

That night...

I lay down in my bed right away, but...

(I can't sleep...)

There is no way I can sleep after hearing what I did this afternoon.

(It's no use...I think I'll get a glass of water...)

I leave my bed and head towards the living room.

Then...

I heard someone shuffling around the living room

"Is anyone there..?"

"Mina?!"

Miyoko is sitting on a sofa alone in the dark.

"What are you doing here at his time of night?"

"I should ask you the same."

I flop down beside her.

"Um, Miyoko?"

"Hm...?"

"What are you going to do about the offer to work at that island?"

I am hesitant to ask, but I know I won't feel satisfied until I do.

She closes her eyes to think.

"I don't want to be a teacher if I'm still thinking about it."

"If I were to be given an appointment I want to be able to give it everything I have."

"Y-yeah..."

"But, I don't want to be apart from you either!"

Even in the dark, I can tell she is close to tears.

I am filled with mixed emotions.

(I don't want to be apart from her either...)

(One year is a long time and who knows what the future might hold!)

(But I do want her dreams to come true.)

(Where do we go from here...?!)
