Don't Leave Me

"Addy, can you bring my phone for me?" Her dad asked her and she got up from where she was studying at the dining table and went over to her dad's phone and unlocked it and she froze when she saw the background, it was a photo of her and her dad, making funny faces at the camera. They had taken it a year ago.

Addison put a hand over her mouth, she had been so caught up with Dean and Seth that she forgot the most important man in her life still did everything for her, he was the one that she could guarantee would always love her, her dad.

And here she was not appreciating him. She kissed her teeth and sighed, carrying the phone to him in his bedroom, he thanked her and went to the mirror to comb his hair

Addison watched him for a few minutes until he put his badge on the black shirt and nodded at his reflection then turned to Addison

"What time will you be home?" Addison asked and her dad made a thinking face

"If Rogers comes on time, around 7," he replied and she nodded

"I'll pick up some dinner, what'dya want?" Her dad asked and she got an idea

"How about I make dinner tonight instead?" She proposed and her dad gave her a smile

"Sounds good, I gotta get to work, call me if you need anything," he reminded and went over to kiss her head as he usually did before he picked up his police cap and walked downstairs

"Bye Addy!" He called through the house and she replied before she went back downstairs.

Now she knew, when she said she would make dinner, he wouldn't expect alot, maybe some bruschetta, that was her speciality but tonight, she would make her dad's favourite.

Steak and potatoes with a nice blueberry pie, that was his absolute favourite meal and she knew this

Her dad would only be working four hours today so she had four hours to do just that.

She went to the store and got all her ingredients and then came back home. She had the day off since it was scholarship holiday in their school

She began to cook when it was half past 5 and she thanked god when she finished at 7 and everything came out perfectly

She had time to shower and set the table before she heard her dad's camaro pull into the driveway

"I'm home and what smells so good?" He asked and Addison proudly smiled

"Wow Addy, you outdid yourself," he said as he came into the kitchen and looked at the spread

He sat down and Addison plated his dinner for him, and he thanked her

"This looks amazing Addy," he complimented, waiting for her to sit down to begin eating

While they were eating, they were just talking bout her dad's work and he asked Addison about school and she just told him the basics like how work was.

"And how's Dean and Seth?" He asked, because he assumed that Dean and Addison were still friends

Addison bit her lip and told him the entire story, starting with the promises she and Dean made to each other, then to him and Renee getting together then to him breaking the promise, then to meeting Seth, then Seth having feelings for her and then to her suicide attempt to now and when she was done, her dad was stumped and he just kinda gaped at her while she was silent

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked finally and Addison looked up

"Didn't want to stress you out, more than you are," she replied after a while, her dad threw his fork against the plate and leaned back, wiping a hand down his face

"Addy, you can always talk to me, I'll always make time for you, I know I work alot but it's just to make sure you have everything you want, you're my top priority." He told her and she wiped a tear that had slipped down her cheek

"Your mother would have been so proud of you Addy, just like I am," he told her and she smiled

"I miss her," she said and her dad smiled

"I miss her to, she was my first love, she was my only love. She stayed with me when I had nothing. When she died it was the hardest thing ever. You were still so young and I had no idea what to do," he explained and Addison shook her head

"You did great, you're still doing an amazing job, you're the best dad," she admitted and then sighed

"That's because I have the best daughter to be a dad to," he replied and she smiled

"You know the day I tried to kill myself, in the moment that my eyes closed, I saw mom." She said, looking at her fingers when she heard a gasp from across the table

"I know I was gonna make it because she told me so. She told me that I can't try to take your favourite girl from you. She said she loves you and she's always watching over us." Addison said watching her dad's eyes water

"She stops me from doing stupid stuff and stops you from working yourself to death, she says we're her family and she's in our hearts," she continued and her dad put his face in his hands and began crying

Addison had never told anyone that before, she hadn't told her dad thd full story either, but now wasn't the time. She got up and went over to where he was seated and wrapped her arms around him, letting him cry on her shoulder

"I miss her Addy," her dad repeated and Addison nodded in agreement

"Please don't leave me," her dad cried and that shocked her and she tightened her hold

"I won't, I promise." She said, closing her eyes and rubbing his back

Well this night had been eventful, Addison laid in her bed and sighed. Her thoughts weren't on Dean, Seth or her dad, they were on her mom

The words she spoke that day that Addison tried to commit suicide rang through her head like a sick mantra. She always believed her mom knew best but this time, she couldn't bring herself to believe her mother's words

She hugged the teddy bear her dad had gotten her when she was little and the bear she still used when she needed comfort and she let herself fall asleep
