Imagine being held at gunpoint (bear with me) by a literate animal (haha) and the only hope of rescue is (BEAR WITH ME) sending a coded message
Ha-ha,
BEAR WITH ME, but isn't that crazy?
He couldn't explain what was stirring inside him as he helplessly watched you fumble with your shackles. Was it anger? He couldn't tell.
Both of you were held fast, freezing to death in the blistering cold, wrapped in icy chains against wooden posts staked in the snow. Unfortunately your rivals weren't very merciful and didn't lend you any coats so you both were freezing. You were starving, too- before they had left you here they had tortured you two for ages it seemed, starving you, poking and prodding, and even depriving you of sleep at any cost. A gust of snowflakes buffeted against your face and you cringed as you squirmed, the cold metal digging in and leaving frosty marks on your skin. Suddenly one of your arms broke free, and you started working on the metal wrapped around the other, yanking and pulling, grunting with the effort. Heavy stood there, not bothering to break free. He wanted to conserve as much warmth and energy as possible. He looked on as you growled against the biting cold, whipping your body around to be free of the cold prison.
"(Y/n)." He called softly. He was truly infuriated with the Reds for doing this to you but he kept his cool, blowing out the tiniest possible billows of warm breath and staying still. "Squirming can cause noise. Bears nearby." He looked at you, you were on the verge of tears.
"We're going to die here," you admitted in defeat, "we may as well try and escape." Heavy was about to say something before he noticed your one free arm. His eyes widened.
"(Y/n)! Use arm to unhook my hand!" He spoke so suddenly that you obliged, reaching over to his hand pinned behind his head and grabbing it, yanking sideways. Heavy grimaced but you kept working until his arm was free. With a mighty grunt Heavy used his now free arm to lean forward then swing his fist back with great force, breaking the log of wood he was chained to with a loud splintering crack. He shouted very loudly in pain as the frozen splinters dig into his hand drawing blood, but the shackles came loose as the pole they were originally tethered to snapped in the cold. Quickly he ran over to you while ripping off any clinging shackles on himself, not minding his bloodied hand, then undid your chains without breaking the wood and splintering you too.
"Misha, you just scolded me for trying to get out of this damn thing. Then you go and yell?" Heavy looked up at you apologetically, flinching under your gaze.
"All more incentive to hurry." He spoke, finally ripping the chains off. You dropped and he caught you, raising you to your feet in the snow.
"Let's go." You said.
Heavy turned to run with you but suddenly paused, listening in the still falling snow.
"Wha-"
"Shh!"
You heard it too. The mumbled, low growl nearby accompanied by the heavy crunch of snow. You gulped and looked at Heavy. You'd never fought a bear let alone seen one in real life and you could only imagine the terrors it would bring. Heavy leaned towards your ear.
