Totally not a blurb because I'm sick right now or anything, heh. :D

By the by, I'm thinking of making all (or at least most) the stories from now on gender neutral. It would open them up to a lot more people and wouldn't detract from the stories too. I wanna know what y'all think though- yay or nay?

Anyhoo, enjoy!

You're not sick, you are most definitely not sick.

Just because your nose is itchy and you keep sniffling, it doesn't mean you're sick. Not one bit. Not a chance. Mercenaries don't get sick, they never get sick, they-

Achoo!

Ouch. That one split your head and you grasped it, sitting up in bed, folding back the fuzzy comforter. First you glanced at your alarm clock; 9 am. Good thing it's cease fire day or you'd never hear the end of Soldier's complaints on how late you always are, groggily walking on down to be thrown into battle half asleep.

You looked towards your window. Soft, fluffy flakes of snow drifted through the hazy scenery and landed on the window panes and white blanketed ground. Suddenly a bead of snot seemed like it was leaking from your nose and you sniffed loudly. You're not sick! Just the cold getting to you, is all. A runny nose is nothing.

Achoo! Achoo! Achoo!

You rubbed your nose and sniffled a little. Honestly, what was going on with you? One sneeze is understandable, but three? Something was going on, but you weren't about to admit being sick- not a chance. Mercenaries don't get sick.

You swung your feet off the bed onto the cold, wooden floor, walking over to your door and swinging it open. Another sneeze was creeping up on your nose and you could feel it tingling. You needed a tissue- fast.

Holding your finger to your nose you ran as fast as you could down the hall to the nearest bathroom where they were inevitably stashed, reaching for one and sneezing quite loudly into it, blowing away all the gunk. Washing up your hands you went to exit the bathroom but bumped into a rather surprised Engineer.

"(Y/n)? What are you doing up this early?" His curious gaze held yours and you sniffed. You didn't want to reveal a sneeze had woke you from your slumber, you feared he'd just worry about you getting sick.

"Nooothing." You mused, turning to head towards the kitchen. He followed, gears turning, something not making sense for him. It clicked.

"You're not coming down with something now, are you?" He asked. You couldn't quite tell but it seemed like he asked with a twinge of amusement. You rolled your eyes.

"Of course not. Mercenaries don't get sick." You repeated your mantra from this morning as if it was a spell that forbade sickness, entering the kitchen to pour yourself a cold glass of milk. Warm hands met yours and forced you to put the jug of milk down and you looked up with a jump only to see Engineer shaking his head.

"You don't want cold stuff, restricts your throat and just plain don't feel good." You watched him as he poured some cocoa powder into your glass, popping it into the microwave. Not a second later it dinged and he handed you a piping hot chocolate. "Here, have some of this, sugar."

As you took it from him your face flushed. You hoped he couldn't tell, your face was already warm as it was, but... Did he just call you sugar? Or was he calling the drink sugary? Shrugging it off you took a sip only to hiss. He chuckled at you.

"Careful, it's hot."

"No kidding," you said with a snort. "Well, thanks for the drink, but I'm gonna head to bed. Not because I'm sick or anything. Just because I want to." Engineer smirked.

"Right. Mercenaries don't get sick." You nodded but before you could turn to leave you caught his smirk growing mildly devilish. A mix of "oh no" and "what is he up to now" and "why that face?!" filled your head. "In that case, why don't I join you?" He said. "I've got nothing to do today, we could watch some television."

"What, so you can get sick with me?!" You said, recoiling. Why would he subject himself to-?!

You gripped your mug tighter as you looked on at his smug face, realizing what you just said.

"You're not sick, remember, (Y/n)?" He practically sang that sentence and you scowled.

"Okay, well, smart guy, I've had it up to here," you were having issues coming up with a comeback and sputtered under his cool gaze, "don't think you can just, that's not very-"

"Well, we'll call it even then for you lying to me. Coming?" He was already at the doorway and you rolled your eyes, a small smile creeping onto your face. Maybe being sick isn't so bad if it means spending a day with Engineer all cozied up and watching your favorite shows.

Achoo!

...Maybe.
