I woke up to my phone ringing.

Keeping my eyes shut I feel around the nightstand for my phone and answer it.

"Hello?" I say in a groggy morning voice rubbing my eyes. "Hey... can we talk?" It was Cameron he sounded terrible. I sit up seeing Mason half way on the bed and half way on the floor in his boxers "yeah sure let me step out in the hall" - "well actually... I was hoping you can come back. You and Mason" I sighed at him "I'll talk to Mason and see what he wants to do" we said our goodbyes and hung up.

I gathered my stuff together and placed it inside my bag. "What are you doing?" Masons raspy morning voice caught me off guard "Cameron asked for us to come back. He wants to talk to us" he sighs in frustration and walks inside the bathroom.

He's clearly upset.

I gathered his stuff as well and neatly placed them in his bag. Setting our bags on the bed he comes out looking more awake and he grabbed his bag and mine as well.

"I called an Uber while taking a shit. They should be here" he says as we exit the room. I giggle a bit getting into the elevator.

Returning the key we head out into the car and Mason gives Cameron's address to our driver. The car ride was silent and awkward, he was clearly upset but he did have to go back to Australia soon.

Arriving at the apartment we get out, pay the driver and head inside. The only people in Cameron's apartment were Toby and Eric in the living room. "Where's Cam?" I asked and they were focused on playing fortnite. "In his room" Eric said before tossing the controller when he died. I look at mason and he follows me to my room dropping off our bags then going to Cams room.

He was editing a video, he turned and seen us standing awkwardly in his room.

"Hey.." he sets his headphones down and turns to us completely. "What did you want cunt?" Mason shoves his hands in his jumper and I could see him biting the inside of his cheek "I wanted to apologize. I was in the wrong I know that but Phoenix you really didn't deserve that and I apologize... I really li-" he pauses for a moment before coughing "I care about you and I don't want you hurt" he finishes and Mason rolls his eyes "oi cunt stop being a pussy it's fine. I just wanted to hang with Phoenix. Ight?" Mason had an attitude in his voice but Cameron didn't seem to care he just nodded "sorry mate" Cam hung his head low and Mason chucks a pencils from Cams nightstand at Cameron's head.

"Stop being sappy. We're good" Mason smacks Cam in the head a bit and Cam smiles "yeah whatever faggot" he smacks Mason back. Mason leaves Cam and I alone to eat and we both sit there in silence.

I know he read my note.

I know he knows.

He knows I know.

"I feel like we need to address the elephant in the room" Cam clears his throat and I nod "you like me?" He asked and I nod looking down at my feet. He inhales almost like he was gonna say something but then shakes his head a bit. "Yeah I uh kinda figured haha it's fine I don't think any less of you but I know you like Mason now so you've got nothing to worry about it doesn't change anything" he almost looked pained when he said that.

I played with my fingers "you okay?" I looked up at him and he smiles and nods "of course Phinny. Why wouldn't I be?" I just nodded back and he stands up. "Let's go catch up with the boys in the living room" we both exit his bedroom and see Mason joined Toby and Eric with a bag of chips on his lap. I sat next to Mason eating some of the chips.

I can't believe I finally told him that I liked him. I never thought in a million years I'd tell him. I was always afraid too because of the possibility of rejection and him thinking I'm stupid and stop talking to me. But it didn't affect us at all.

Smiling a bit, I continued to watch Eric get his ass basically ate by some solo fortnite players.

Thinking about it now I don't really see a life with Cameron. Yet looking at Mason... he may be autistic sometimes but I definitely seeing me say I do to taking his last name and making it my own.

Phoenix Bradford....

"Oi you alright? You getting sick?" Mason puts his hand on my forehead "you feel warm" he said and I realized I was blushing. "Ah~ I'm fine really just a hot flash" I coughed a bit getting up. "You sure you sound like you're coming down with something." Toby said setting his controller down. I nod going to the kitchen to grab some water.

Grabbing a glass and filling it I instantly drank the flavorless beverage (I hate water cause it's flavorless but anyways) then rinsing the cup out and setting it aside to dry.

I'm falling for Mason. I never thought I'd get over Cameron. I've only liked him and only him even when I tried to get over him it never worked. Till now I guess.

I looked over at the guys sitting at the couch laughing and insulting each other. I specifically looked at Mason. The way his smile made his eyes squint a bit and his teeth showed a lot.

I have to make a move. No. He will reject you. No he will either accept it and go on a date with you or say no and still be friends.

There was a tap on my shoulder and I turn to see Mason.

"Hey. I was wondering if you'd want to go to dinner with me tomorrow" he asked and I felt my legs turn into jello.

I smile wide and felt my face get red "yes I would love too!"

Damn that was easier than I anticipated.
