Chapter 14: picky dress shopping

"I absolutely loath shopping for an event I do not want to go to"

"Oh come on, it's our senior year! We have to enjoy these events and live in the moment!"

"Lila even I'm a little excited and I hate dancing." Bee said

"Exactly! Plus you love dancing, what's the issue?" Calla exclaimed

"The issue is that I don't want people to-"

"Find out your secret. We know" Bee and Calla said in unison.

"But Lila it's our last year who give a fuck what others say." Calla said

"Even though you should never really give a fuck to what others think of you." Bee added

"She's right mija." Juliana (Lila's aunt) said, coming out of the kitchen.

"Ma were you eves dropping?" Lila asked

"Yes...but that's not the point. I have seen you beat yourself up since your freshman year audition and you have only gotten better and better, what others think of you should not matter to you. What matters is how you view yourself how you love yourself, how you take on Your life." grabbing Lila's hands her aunt continued. "You are a talented young woman it amazes me how determined you are, you always have been since you were a child, I watched you grow more and more each day, life only comes around once, so go and make the best of it, because trust me adulthood is coming up real soon and it's not that fun as your life right now." They both laughed

Lila knew her aunt right she knew adult life is hard. She remembered looking at how much it would cost to move out and live on her own while attending college the cost made her wallet cry in agony.

"okay ma, you're right."

Sighing she said "I know, Now you girls go on go shopping, órale." "While you go shopping I'll take care of the twins."

"I thought my mother was suppose to be home" Lila said

"Como siempre she's working late." Juliana said

No surprise there.

Juliana noticed Lila's change in mood and said "you know she works hard to provide for you guys."

"Yeah I know."

"Will you girls be home for dinner?"

The three girls ooked at each other briefly.

"Mm no Ma we'll just grab something to eat out"

"Bueno pues."

"Thank you for offering Mrs. Starfa-"

"Calla I told you, it's okay to call me by my first name." Juliana said

"Right. Thank you for offering Juliana"

"No problem. Now go have fun. Send me pictures."

"Adios Juliana" Bee said

"Ahh your Spanish accent is getting better Bee."

"Bye Ma." Lila said, giving her a hug goodbye

"Bye mija drive safe."

"We have been so so many stores my feet are tired."

"Stop whining lila it's not our fault your picky."

"I already found my dress so I'm all good." Bee said.

Bee had been the first of the three to find her dress, she found a beautiful black laced dress that was long for Calla but to Bee it reached passed her knees.

"Let's try this store. Hopefully we can find ours." Calla said with enthusiasm.

Sticking to their routine of looking around The girls heard Calla squeal.

"Yes! Yes! It's perfect!"

Bee and Lila walked over to the isle she stood at and saw her dress.

Calla held up a short baby blue colored dress with butterflies around the straps and on the waist of the dress. It looked absolutely beautiful.

"It's perfect! I can have a butterfly mask to go with it since it is a masquerade theme." Calla said

"Go try it on." Bee said

Calla practically sprinted towards the fitting rooms.

"And then there was one." Bee said

"Ugh this is annoying."

"Here let me help."

Bee gave lila her things and looked around.

"What about that one over there by the stairs?"

Bee pointed at a short golden beige dress with Lacey patterns, simple but beautiful.

"Bee....I think we have a winner."

Hello loves! I finally finished my first semester of college.

Happy holidays!/Merry Christmas (if you celebrate it) I hope you all are having a wonderful winter break. Is it me or does it not feel like Christmas? Anyways here's my gift to you a new update.
