Callie is finally in LA. :)
CHAPTER 4
"Do you speak english?" I yell at the taxi driver. "Pull over." For the past twenty minutes this crazy driver has been circling the block, after i've told him a million times to pull over. The mad taxi driver pulls over in front of a hotel, the hotel I will be staying at. I jump out of the taxi and get my suitcases, moving them aside as I lean into the passangers window to pay the driver.
"$50." He grunts, not even looking in my direction. I toss him the money and step onto the sidewalk, next to my suitcases. "What about a tip?" He asks me, extending his hand in my direction.
"Tip?" I laugh without humor. "How about you listen to people when they talk to you." I high-five his extended hand and spin on my heels, grabbing my suitcases and making for the hotel entrance. I hear him yell something that sounded like abuse but I couldn't care less what he thinks.
An old man opens the hotel door for me and I give him a swift nod, walking into the lobby. I walk up to the reception desk and wait for someone to come over and help me out. I look around the room, I see two small couches and two lifts. The room isn't that bad decor wise, kind of homely. A lady appears from a door saying 'staff only' and gives me a big grin.
"Hello, how can I help?" She asks me polietly.
"I'm booked in here for two days, under the name 'Eden'. I tell her, smiling. She nods and starts tapping away at the computer in front of her.
"Yes, yes. Callie Eden, well Callie your room is number 74 on the second floor." She hands me a set of keys.
"Thanks." I say, taking the keys and grabbing my suitcases.
"Let me know if you need anything." She says, before escaping into the room she came out of.
I walk over to the lifts and press the arrow that points up, quickly a lift door opens. I walk in and am relieved to find it empty, finally some alone time. I press number two and sit my suitcases on the floor, you'd think a hotel would atleast get someone to take your bags for you. Well, that's what happens in all the movies. A bell chimes and the door opens, I grab the suitcases and step into the hallway, looking for my room. I walk up the hallway until I finally spot number 74, I shove the key into the lock and swing the door open. I walk in and see that I have a single bed, a small table, a mini fridge and a small bathroom to the side.
I throw my suitcases to the side and lock the door, eager for some peace and quiet. I flop myself on the bed and take out my phone, making sure to text Mum and Bree that I got here safely. I know I should be excited about being here but i'm not. Being nineteen and away from parents sounds like a blast but I would much rather be with Bree at home, in Australia. Home sickness already, wonderful. I curl up on my side and close my eyes, thinking of the eventful day I will have tomorrow. Meeting my boss for the first time is not something i'm going to enjoy. Meeting new people sucks banana's, especially when that person is a friend of your Mum's. I groan loudly and smack a hand to my head. Remind me why I am doing this again? Oh yeah, because my mum thinks it's a great opportunity to kick start a successful career. I hate journalism! I failed english for god's sake, I don't know how this is a good idea. Me being 24 hours away from home is probably what she wanted. I yawn and roll over to my other side. My mind goes blank and all I can focus on is sleep, beautiful blissful sleep.

Shit, shit, shit!
I'm already late for my meeting because of my stupid fashion sense. I finally decided to wear a short black skirt, black stockings, a white blouse and a black blazer. When in doubt black and white, right? I shove my feet into my trustworthy black flats and grab my handbag, rushing out the door. I slam my palm into the lift button signalling down.
