CHAPTER 15

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear Callie, happy birthday to you!" I sit on the edge of my bed, rolling my eyes as my mum annoyingly sings happy birthday to me.

"My birthday isn't until tomorrow." I say, picking fluff off my pyjama pants. Being woken up at 6:30 in the morning sucks, even if I have to go to stupid work. My dingbat mother decided it was an excellent time to wake me up with a song. A song that has to remind me of my ever increasing age. Grr.

"Honey, in Australia it's your birthday! Don't deprive your mother of saying happy birthday to her one and only daughter!" Blah Blah Blah!

"Okay, okay. Thankyou my dear mother, I am forever in your debt." I say sarcastically, standing up and walking lazily over to my dresser to brush away my bed head.

"Have a great birthday baby!"

"I will mum, tomorrow!" I say, sighing loudly as I finally brush all the knots out of my hair. What did I do? Wrestle my bedsheets last night?

"Okay, have a great birthday whenever you decide to celebrate it. I love you Callie."

"I love you to mum." I say before hanging up and marching loudly into the kitchen to make a coffee. I grab my mickey mouse cup off the shelf and pour the warm heavenly liquid into it, feeling the warmth of the now full cup. I lift it to my lips and take a long drink, waking me up from my morning daze. I hear a throaty cough behind me take another sip of my coffee before turning around to face Everett. I turn around and immediantly do a spit take, spitting coffee all over Everett.

"Why the fuck are you naked?" I cry, covering my eyes with my hands. Always immature aren't you Callie?

"It's a sad day when a guy can't walk around naked in his own house! God dammit woman!" I hear the sarcasm in his voice and can just imagine the smirk on his face. I try and guide myself back to my bedroom, taking a hand from my glued shut eyes to feel around in front of me. I take a few steps before my hand collides with something. Something all too familiar.

"Everett, get out of my way!" I snap, smacking him hard against his chest. Well, I hope it's his chest.

"What's wrong? Never seen a naked guy before?" He teases, taking my hand in his and running it along his bare chest. Tease.

"Of course I have! I just prefer to see good looking naked guys." I hear him scoff and I smile, edging away from him.

"If you moved your hands away you would see one." Now it was my turn to scoff. I take my hand off his chest and take a step around him, peeking through my fingers to see which direction I was headed. I spot my open bedroom door and take another step towards it before two familiar hands grab my waist and pull me backwards, my feet leaving the ground. I slam into his chest and gasp loudly, my feet hitting the group with a thud. I scream loudly as my back presses against his naked body and run towards my room, stopping just inside the door. I cover my eyes again and turn my face in his direction, feeling slightly awkward.

"Put some god damn clothes on!" I point a finger at his approximate whereabouts, hearing him chuckle, low and sexy. Maybe leave the clothes off? I turn my back to him and slam my bedroom door for effect, sighing before ripping my own clothes off. If this was a steamy romance novel Everett would barge through my door right about now! I throw on a simple red dress that stops mid thigh, pairing it with stockings and flats. I apply some eyeliner and add some lipstick, grabbing my phone off my dresser and throwing it into my handbag. I rush into the kitchen, checking warily for a naked lunatic that's on the loose. I down the rest of my now cold coffee and turn around just in time to see Everett buttoning up his work shirt. He looks up at me and smirks before he buttons up the rest of his shirt and heads out the door. I throw my cup in the sink and follow him, shamelessly watching his ass as he walks in front of me. Does he want to just stand there for me? Like, all day? I bite my bottom lip and jump into his car, throwing my handbag on the floor below my feet. He turns the car on and I change the radio so it's now playing 'Deja vu' by 3OH!3 quite loudly. I sing along to the words, ignoring the chuckles and looks Everett was sending me from across the seat.
