Roman winced as he sat up, realizing his ropes had been cut and he was now sitting in his twin's old room.
"Why do we always get kidnapped together?"
Roman sighed as Caroline chuckled from beside him.
"Good question. Hey, here's another good question do you know Valarie?"
Caroline rose an eyebrow.
Roman began to think, his eyes widening.
"Valarie as in Stefan's first love Valarie?"
Roman gaped realizing who the heretic was.
With a sigh Caroline flopped down on the bed.
"That's the one."
Roman's eyes snapped to the door, the boy swallowing hard seeing who had entered.
"Is Valarie here?"
Lily Salvatore questioned the two.
"I heard her leave the house, I guess torture makes her hungry."
Caroline glared.
"Forgive me for prying but I heard your mother died last spring-"
"No one wants to talk to you Lily."
Roman scoffed clenching his jaw as he looked to the ground.
"I was simply curious about how one heals from such loss."
Lily tried to ask.
Roman chuckled standing up and glaring hard into his mother's eyes.
"Heal from the loss of a mother? You don't."
Roman seethed as Lily winced from his tone alone.
Roman held back the tears of anger in his eyes as he glared at the woman.
"I would know."
Lily's eyes filled with tears as Roman's glare held more hate then she'd ever seen in the boy.
Even when Roman was angry with his father he'd never looked so furious.
"My sweet Roman, what happened?"
Lily whispered trying to reach for his curls.
Roman took a step back quickly.
"I grew up, and I have felt pain for decades.
But none was worse then losing my mother."
Roman inhaled sharply glaring at the woman.
"Nora remove the barrier spell."
Lily said quietly, assuming the girl was listening in.
Without a second thought Roman stormed past the woman, assuming Caroline would follow.
As Roman left the house he saw Enzo standing in front of the door with sad eyes.
"She said she just wanted to talk to you."
Enzo mumbled distraughtly.
"Don't ever do that again Lorenzo."
Roman mumbled, pushing away his anger.
"I'm so so sorry darling."
Enzo made a move to hug the boy but Roman moved back quickly.
"Vervain skin apparently."
Roman sighed remembering Valarie's spell.
Enzo nodded sadly resting a hand on the boy's shoulder instead.
"I love you and I am so so sorry."
"I've told you a thousand times Enzo, I could never be upset with you. Not even for this."
"Really? I'd hate me."
Roman chuckled as Enzo grinned seeing the boy's smile.
"I left you in Augustine and you kidnapped me for my mother. I'd say we're even beautiful."
