"Now you have to come! No take backs, you said you'd come and visit me, so now you have to."

Words spoken to you by none other than your best friend, Lalisa Manoban. You'd actually only known Lisa for about 3 months. You met at work, but you grew a connection almost instantly and started spending more time together outside of work hours. You're not a Christian, but you have an open mind and are keen to try out new things. After all, it was a new year. And with that news, Lisa couldn't be more ecstatic. You could see her adorable face light up when you told her you had plans to surprise her at her church's upcoming Easter event, although that being said, something came up so you weren't able to actually go.

A few weeks had passed by, and you were finally able to visit! Your idea of church? Slow hymns, an uninteresting sounding preacher in his 60s, older conservative people everywhere. What you were surprised with? Young people playing around with each other, contemporary music playing through the speakers, flashy lights, a pastor that looked no older than 35, and Lisa screaming in your direction. "Y/N!! YO YO YOOOOOO!!!" And then, you were pounced on.

"Good God, you're lucky I'm not a klutz that would drop you in an instant." You laughed, holding her up right then letting her down gently. "This place isn't quite what I was expecting."

"Good thing, I hope?"

"Absolutely."

You had arrived moments before the service was to begin, some people were doing last minute setting up and sound checks, and you were waltzing back and forth outside with a cup of tea in one hand, and an eager Lisa in the other. Lisa's part of the worship team, but you didn't know that. You would sing along to songs in the car badly on purpose, so far as you were aware, she couldn't even sing all that well. You met a bunch of new people, and you were struggling to remember names. You got along well with a few others. Namjoon, Jackson, Jisoo, and Jennie; you're sure you'll remember more names eventually. As for the service, you found yourself liking it much more than you thought you would.

Fast forward a few weeks, you hadn't returned to the church yet because you'd been working on Sunday's. People were asking where you were, wondering when they'd get to see you again. It gave you a warm feeling hearing that people you had only spoken to on the day remember and think about you. You were due to get your license soon, so it'd be much easier to get to and from work by then. You decided that would be another surprise.

Fast forward two years, you took Sunday's off of work, you're serving in the multimedia team, everyone is super protective of you - the baby (or so that's what they like to refer to you as). A lot can happen in two years, including the decision that the higher-up's had made for your church community. "Alright, team! It's time to talk dates. We've got to get moving in 3 months."

"Have you got the last of it all, Y/N?"

"Yeah, it's all here."

"Great, thanks so much!" You smiled at your pastor, who was like a father to you, and carried on helping any others that needed it. You muttered to yourself, 'this is going to be a bit of a change'. "Oh, by the way, I wanted to introduce you to Reverend Mason Park and his family. You'll be seeing them around a lot, he's this building's pastor."

You put the boxes down and approached them, introducing yourself with a bow to show respect. "안녕하세요, 만나서 반가워요! (Hello, nice to meet you!)" You flashed an award-winning smile, and your pastor looked shocked to say least. You had been practising on your own for moments like this.

"만나서 반가워요! (It's nice to meet you!)" Mrs Park, whose first name you believe to be Clare, returned your gesture with as much enthusiasm. They continued saying a few things to you in Korean, to which you had to tell them-

"Oh, Y/N isn't actually Korean! She's been studying though, and it seems to be going well." Your pastor had come in to save you before you could save yourself. They all exclaimed in surprise - you noticed a girl to their side looking at you carefully and then sharing a gentle smile at the commotion that was caused.

"Your pronunciation is really good, Y/N. I was completely convinced you were Korean! I'm Alice, by the way. It's nice to meet you!" You couldn't lie - she was quite pretty. Looking over to her mother, you could tell where the genes came from. You continued chatting with them for a little while before you resumed with what you were doing before.

It was a Saturday afternoon in Sydney, the sun was dying down as everyone was finishing unloading a few things in the storage room. The Park family had left, and everyone was starting to head home. "Hey Lalice, wanna head to the cafe down the road?" You didn't need her to say anything - the look on her face said it all - she was absolutely in.

"I heard the word cafe. We're in." Jennie and Jisoo smiled widely at you. "Let's get going! That ice cream is not going to eat itself." The three of you laughed at Jisoo as you grabbed your bags. Once you got to the cafe, you couldn't help but admire the decor. It had a very interesting feel to it; your usual vintage style cafe, but with antiques strewn about as part of its vibe. Some of the tables were even taken from old sewing machines - 'very cool...' You could tell this would be one of the new regular spots you'd come to. "Your shout, Y/N?"

You'd been standing there for a good while, trying to figure out what to get. "Yeah, alright, but you're buying next time!" Jisoo exploded with joy. Everyone told you what they wanted and you went ahead to the counter. You waited a little while until you were greeted by a gentle face that seemed a tad grumpy.

"Hi, what can I get for you?" You felt bad for her, she seemed really tired and in a bit of a mood. She tried to hide it, but she didn't do much of a great job at it. There were bags under her dull eyes; she stared at you, slightly uninterested, as she waited to put in your order. You quickly snapped yourself out of it as you gave her your order. Even though she looked grumpy, you couldn't help but think 'wow... she's absolutely beautiful'. You went back to the girls and kept your eyes glued to the counter where that girl was making your drinks and preparing your ice cream.

Lisa noticed you were out of it and gave you a shove. "Y/N/N, what's going on in that pretty little head of yours?" She looked over at the girl that was bringing your order over, back at you, and smirked. "Oh, I see. You sure know how to spot them fast," she lets out a laugh and you smack her arm.

"Here you go, I hope you enjoy," she looks at you again, mustering up some energy to give you a small smile that's hardly noticeable to anyone else, "Let me know if there's anything else you need," you watched her leave, smiling to yourself, and ignoring Lisa's suggestive facial expressions. 'I'm absolutely coming here more often.'

Hey, everyone! It's ya girl Emily, and she's had something snap in her that gave back her writing mojo. If this prologue seemed boring, it's because I haven't dived into the juicy stuff yet ;) just introducing you to... yourself? Yeah. Anyway, let me know what you guys think! I've got some other ideas brewing as well, but let me know if you have any requests! I'm thinking of possibly starting a one-shots book as well. Just let me know what you'd like! :)

Peace out! Hope you enjoyed!
