Chapter 12: "Lancer?"

Once the team separated from the group hug, Susie spoke up. "OK, enough with the cheesy stuff. Let's get going, shall we?" She asked. Everyone agreed, and so off they went. They walked to the next area, which was a simple linear path. As they walked on, some small talk was made.

"Wow, this is so cool! I've never been on such a big team before!" Lancer exclaimed, happily. "Don't you have a legion of... Various guys?" Ralsei asked. Lancer's expression faded slightly. "Yeah, but my dad forced them to listen to me. So they don't actually like me very much." He replied. Everyone just glanced at each other, not really knowing what to say.

Susie was the first one to speak up after a moment. "Heh, well you don't need those clowns anymore." She stated. Chara then joined the conversation as well. "Yeah, just chill with us." She smiled. "Aye aye!" Lancer replied, back to his happy state of mind.

Vixen tried to hold back a laugh, with only a few giggles seeping out. Ralsei looked at her curiously. "What's so funny?" He quietly asked her, knowing that if she's holding her laughter back, its probably something she thought no one else would really find funny. That, or she knew something everyone else didn't. Who knows, maybe it was both.

Vixen snickered lightly as she looked at him. "Its funny, really. Back before Chara and I showed ourselves, she'd always get so bothered by Lancer's nonsense. And now that he's on our team, she's acting like he's a younger brother, or somethin'." She replied, just as quietly.

The two were snapped out of their quiet conversation when they heard Susie's voice. "Man, I'm STILL hungry. It's like nothing I eat here matters." She complained, before smirking. "Shoulda stolen more money for the bake sale, I guess." She joked.  "...I WAS thinking of baking a cake later." Ralsei mumbled after a moment.

"Can it be chocolate?" Chara hopefully asked. "Ah, sure! If you want." Ralsei replied. "Y'know Ralsei, if you want, I'd be happy to help." Vixen stated. "Oh, OK. Thanks, Vixen." Ralsei said back. Susie then cut back in. "Mmmmm... What's the catch." She asked. Ralsei was quiet for a moment. "...You have to stop making fun of me, for one." He eventually replied. "PASS!" Susie yelled, as she and Lancer laughed.

As the group continued, Lancer spotted a tree with some dark candy. "Look, Susie! A candy tree!" He cheered, pointing it out to his hardcore friend. "Hell yeah!" Susie exclaimed, before trying to jump up and grab it. She only failed in the process, as the candy was really high up.

"...Damn, the last piece's too high to reach." She admitted. Of course, Lancer being, well, Lancer, decided to give her a hand. In his usual Lancery ways. "Worry not, Susie! I have a special transformation for times like this!" He boldly stated. "R-Really!?" Susie asked, surprised. "Yeah, really...?" Chara asked as well, feeling skeptical.

"Watch and learn, team!" Lancer exclaimed, as bent down and touched the floor. "Look! Stool forme!" He cheered. "...All you did was put your hands on the ground." Ralsei remarked, a bit awkwardly. "Hey, don't act so jealous." Susie stated. When her back was turned, Vixen stepped closer to the rest of the team, standing between Chara and Ralsei. "So... I guess one could say Lancer's trying to... STEP up his game?" She joked to the others, causing them to laugh. Well, Kris did more so much as to smile at her pun.

"Pffft, god damn it, Vixen! You and your puns, I swear... Honestly, I'm starting to think you're spending too much time around Sans." Chara commented, laughing. "Ya wanna be more specific, Chara? There's like... Several thousand alternate universes and timelines, and with those comes various alternative versions of Sans. How am I supposed to know which one you're talking about?" Vixen jokingly asked.

"Ah, shut up!" Chara said, playfully punching her sister's arm. "Heheh, got it." Susie stated, getting everyone's attention once again. She held the dark candy in her hand. Lancer was now standing upright, looking at the candy in curiosity. "Ooo, tell me what it tastes like!" He told Susie, who just looked at him in confusion.
