Lin:

It's been about four months since I asked Desi to be my girlfriend and can I just say that it has been the bestest month in my entire life. We've grown closer to each other in so many ways. I learned so much more about her and it's like I fall in love with this woman more and more and more each day.

We were currently going to a meeting regarding my upcoming musical. We've now worked on completing the first song which still needs way more work. The musical doesn't even have a title yet, but just you wait.

"It's gonna be fine, as it always is." Des reassures me. I could tell she noticed my nervousness. She always did. I nod and give her a quick, but meaningful peck on the lips. When we finally enter the doors leading up to the meeting room, my stress is gone.

"Lin, how are you?" My boss, Daniel, says to me. He gives me a firm shake when I extend my arm. "I see you decided to bring Desi here with us." He says in a friendly manner as they greet each other.

After settling down, the meeting finally starts. It was just another day in the business. I would show Danny the work that I've been doing for the past few days and he would give me corrections or compliments. This cycle is supposed to be repeated until the whole album is finished. Which is obviously far away from today. After a few hours, the meeting is dismissed. We worked on the same opening song, which was coming off pretty strong and good.

"This is going really good, isn't it?" Des tells me as we enter her car. "Yes, I'm so excited for this!" I exclaim, trying to have patience. I wasn't just working on this proyect, I was also working on a few other songs just for fun.

Minute by minute, writing was taking over my life, but in the good way. When we got to Desi's apartment, I sat on her piano and started playing some keys and melodies. I would talk to myself in front of it until it felt true, and then I wrote it down.

About an hour later, I heard Des run in the living room. "Baaaabe!" She pratically screamed. I turned around and stared at her with an amused face, "Yeeees?" I asked. I loved it when she called me names.

"Layla just invited us to Sorrento!" I hear her cry. My jaw drops to the floor, totally confused. What is she talking about?

"Hold on, wait a damn minute, Sorrento as in Italy?!" I rush.

"Yes! We're leaving tonight!" She says, in utter shock as well. What? Is this a dream? I can't afford it.

"Why?! I mean, what? I just- Babe, I can't afford this," I say, my frown now becoming visible.

"It's Layla's birthday and she is paying for everything! She's always dreamed of going to Italy for her birthday and she wanted me to give me the chance of going with you well because..." She trails off, a hint of red creeping up on her cheeks.

"Because..." I ask, with a slightly amused smile. I already knew where she was going with this and as a loving boyfriend, I just wanted to tease her about it.

"Because she knows how much I like you." She says, her voice so low that it was almost a whisper. I laugh and stand up to wrap my arms around her fragile waist.

"You are too cute, I can't with you." I laugh again and so does she while she hugs me back. "I really don't know how to repay Layla. She's an amazing friend, Des." I say and Desi agrees with me. Desi also told me how Layla comes from a very wealthy family, which explains every trip she takes each year. And lucky for us, this year, she wanted to spend it with our company.

"C'mon, let's start packing!" Des grabs my hand, running towards her bedroom. We talk about what clothes to wear and how many to bring since we're going there for the weekend. Tomorrow was Friday and we were leaving on Sunday night. When Desi and I finally pack her clothes, it was my turn.

Before we left to my place which was my sister's house, I wanted to record an original song that I worked on this week. It only took me a few days to write it but I still wanted to record it just for fun.

I sit behind the piano and let all of my talent and passion go. The song was called Wrote My Way Out.

"I wrote my way out. When the world turned its back on me, I was up against the wall. I had no foundation, no friends and no family to catch my fall. Running on empty, with nothing left in me but doubt, I picked up a pen and wrote my way out." I finish singing and I could feel Desi's stare on me. I looked up and saw her smiling like a proud mom.

"Alright, let's go," I said with a chuckle after hitting stop on the video and we made our way to my house.
