Five Years Later
Desi:

I hear Chris and Lin finishing up "One Last Time". The song was amazing, just like the rest of the songs. "This is so good, bro!" Chris hugs Lin and they chuckle. I smile at my boyfriend proudly, beyond amazed by his dedicated work.

After Lin performed his first song at the White House a few years ago, he started writing songs after songs after songs. Now, he has all the fourty-six of the album written, and he is working on rehearsing them before we open the show.

He also had to cast the actors since he wanted the album to be sung by the cast that will open up in Broadway in about four months. Frankly, so much has happened over the years.

Lin and I bought our own apartment across from Broadway, where his show will open soon. We moved in together and we've been the dream team ever since. I'm kind of like his manager in a sense, since I'm always trying to help him out if he needs help or I'll be there to support him.

The crew wraps up rehearsals for today. Lin makes his way towards me and gives me a kiss. "You look exhausted." I say as I mess around with his hair. He laughs and puts his arm around my shoulder as we walk out of the studio. "Exhausted is an understatement." He says and I wrap my arm around his waist.

"Oh I think I figured that out on my own." I joke and I make him chuckle cutely. "You're the only person who can make me smile after a day like this." He says and I blush, just like I did on our first date. We stop on our way to get some dinner before going home. We got some soup to go and we drank it while watching TV.

We change into some comfortable pijamas before going to sleep. "Good night, princess." He kisses my forehead. "Night, babe." I respond and just like that we are drifted into slumber.

Lin:

The next morning, it was Friday and we were hosting auditions for our Hamilton cast and so far, nobody had impressed me. "Next!" I said as I was tired of seeing the same old same old. Hell, they had talent but they didn't fit our criteria. We had some cast members already like Chris Jackson which is one of my best friends.

Anthony Ramos, Phillipa Soo, Daveed Diggs and Okieriete Onaodowan also known as Oak, were also cast already since I met them through Desi's best friend, Layla, a few years ago and they were exactly what I had in mind. Also they had such amazing and unique voices.

Another girl shows up and she introduces herself. I look up and I notice it's Renee, the star from Rent. Desi was not going to believe this, she is a huge fan of her.

"Hello, my name is Renee Elise Goldsberry and I'm trying out for the role of Angelica." After she sings, she leaves us in disbelief, her voice was so strong.

"Thank you, Renee. Please have a seat and wait until we call you back." Alex who was seated beside me says and she nods. One hour later, we still had not found anything special except for Renee who played Angelica, so we called her back in the room.

"Congratulations, you got the part!" I say and she gasps. "Thank you so much!" She says, shaking our hands. We tell her we were soon going to give her a call with all the information. She nodded and thanked us once again before exitting the room. "I thank that's enough for today." Alex says to me and I agree with him.

Thankfully, these were the last auditions for these week. Finally I was going to have full on time with Desi. We were planning to go to a hotel for the weekend, to have the two days all to ourselves.

After taking a cab back to our apartment, I unlock the door and walk in. "I'm home, babe!" I shouted as I heard Tobi running up to me. "Hi buddy!" I said and he wiggled his tail even faster, jumping up and down.

I figured she must be up in our bedroom. I walk the stairs and soon enough, see her sitting on our bed. "Hey, handsome. How were rehearsals?" She asks as she put away her laptop and rested it on her nightstand. "Actually pretty good, we casted Angelica today." I smiled, going in for a kiss to greet her.

"That's amazing! What's her name?" She asks as I sit down beside her, holding her hand.

"Renee Elise Goldsberry." I say like such a casual thing, teasing Desi since she was a fan of hers. She gasps. "Oh my god, the Renee?!" I laugh, loving her reaction. "Yes! When she walked in I was like holy shit I gotta tell Desi, and we casted her because she voice was really powerful!" I say and Desi is in shock.

"Babe, I wanna meet her, she's a goddess!" She says, fangirling. "I promise you will. Your wish is my command." I joke and give her a kiss on the cheek. I go and head to the bathroom to clean myself up since I've been working the whole day.

After I change into some sweatpants and a hoodie, I pack up some last minute things and lay my suitcase next to Desi's. "Are you excited, honey?" I say, crawling into bed, next to her. "I can't wait!"

"I know right, finally we have the days all to ourselves. No work, no stress, just the two of us." I give her a kiss and we cuddle each other while watching what was on TV.
