Irene's parents told me that I could sleep on Jiyeon's room while the girls would just share a room for the night. I was on the bed, shifting left and right since I couldn't sleep. I wasn't sure of the reason myself. I stood up and turned the lamps off, walking outside the room just to see the living room a bit illuminated due to the light that came from the backyard. I walked towards the direction then leaned on the doorway, just to see Joohyun sitting on one of the wooden tables there, with her eyes darted on the night sky. The woman was already wearing a pair of pajamas, her hair was tied up in a messy bun. She was humming on a song that I couldn't recognize, her fingers were drumming against the surface.

"I see, you aren't tired yet?" I spoke, wearing the pair of slippers then walked towards her. She turned her face towards my direction with a gasp, her hands quickly covered her face. "Oh, did I disturb you?"

"I thought you were asleep already." I managed to understand despite her hands that were blocking her whole face.

"I couldn't sleep." I chuckled then walked towards her, sitting inches away from her. "I guess you can't too?"

"Yeah." She answered simply.

"B-But why are your hands on your face?" I asked poking on her hands with a finger.

'I already washed my face. I have no make-up on."

"And so?"

"You can't see my face like this." She laughed while shaking her head.

"So when I was seeing you two years ago, you were wearing make-up?" I asked in shock.

"A little." Even she was covering her face, I knew she just bit her lip.

"Why is that?"

"As an idol, I should prevent other people seeing my bare face." She shrugged.

"Oh. So you still treat me as 'others' then?" I asked in disbelief, looking at her. From the little space where I could see her eyes just between her fingers, I could see her eyes widened.

"I didn't mean it that way—"

"I was just kidding." I chuckled. "You better remove those. It's not nice talking to someone with her hands on her face, don't you think?"

"I can't."

"Then, should I cover my face as well?" I reached my palms towards my face, covering it just like what she was doing. I left a little space between my fingers, letting my eyes see her. It sent Irene laughing, she was shaking her head.

"Don't do that. You don't wear make-up, Y/N." She spoke. I removed my hands then smiled at her.

"You're at your home. You shouldn't be uncomfortable when you're here because this is your house, Irene. It's where you can be who you want to be." I chuckled. "Now I feel like I'm invading your privacy."

She looked at me in shock for the second time. I just gave her a smile, then the woman slowly removed her hands from her face. As her hands fell to her lap, I couldn't help but stare at her face. She even became more beautiful without make-up.

"Stop looking at me like that, I know, okay? I don't look the same when I have my make-up on." She sighed moving her eyes away from me.

"Yeah, you don't." I spoke, dazed.

"What? Y-You were supposed to say— Nevermind." She groaned.

"No, I mean—" I stammered. "You look even prettier."

She looked at me surprised.

"I mean it." I exhaled. "You're very pretty without make-up, Irene."

"Really?"

"Mm-hm." I nodded. The woman just smirked then brought her eyes back at the sky. "You like stargazing, don't you?"

"I do." She smiled. "They're just really pretty to look at, you know? The way they twinkle at night, they look so beautiful."

"Just like you." I thought.

"Are the stars in Joseon like this too?" She asked looking at me. I brought my eyes to the sky, then observed the stars before shaking my head. "It's different?"

"They're way too many back then." I shrugged. "Like too many."

"Wow, that's cool." She laughed.

"I'm sure you'll like them. They're best to look at when you're at the mountain peak." I said looking at her. Irene brought her gaze to mine and I saw how excited she was, she was amazed.

"I wish I could see that too." She smiled at me. "Did you like stargazing too when you were in Joseon?"

"Not much." I shrugged. "I wasn't that interested. All I knew was stars are dead people."

"Oh, my dad told me about that too." She laughed. "Daddy said that our grandparents are watching us from above as stars so we better be careful or they'll take us with them."

"See. That's what my grandmother say too." I chuckled.

"By the way, sorry about how my father acted earlier. He normally freaks out about guys. He did the same exact thing when Jiyeon introduced us her boyfriend." She says laughing shyly, her hands scratching her nape. "And about mom... She just got a little excited."

"You never brought home a guy at home before?"

"Never. Not even once." Irene laughed. "Well except for our manager of course."

"They didn't freak out when your manager went here?" I laughed.

"I'm thankful they didn't! Good thing the girls were here to help me." She shook her head. "So again, I'm really sorry."

"It's okay. I think they're really funny." I chuckled.

"Funny, huh? I saw how scared you were at my Dad." She teased.

"Just a little. It wasn't a big deal, you know?" I joked, making the woman laugh out so loud.

"Not a big deal." She mocked me, nodding her head. "Okay, if you say so."

"Just kidding." I sighed. "He scared me. A lot."

"I know he did. I saw how you react, Y/N." She laughed again. "You're eyes like, went like this..." She widened her eyes to look like me earlier. "Then I saw your body tensed, then you took a deep breath!"

We laughed together, her delicate hands were slightly slamming on the wooden table. I watched Joohyun's eyes curved, her laugh was music to my ears. From watching her, I couldn't help but remember the last time I had this kind of conversations with her, the last night I was with her before I left their dorm. Before I left them. Before I left her.

I cherished the moment, not wanting it to end. Ever. How I wished everything could stay like this forever.
