Noah:

Misery.

that’s what my life has been these past 2 weeks.

I was a terrible person. I couldn’t even keep up my promise to Tara, I had failed her, and failed Valerie.

I was just a terrible person.

I groaned stretching in my chair in my office. I had just finished writing an article for wednesday’s paper. I was writing uncontrollably, and my bosses were loving it. Burying myself with work was the only thing i could do to keep my mind off Valerie.

I sighed as i made my way out of the office, into the elevator. I was going to go straight home.

Things weren’t so great with Tara, we had been fighting because i haven’t spend much time with her, She just doesn’t know i feel terrible every time i see her , and i have to act as if everything was okay.

Today we hadn’t talk about seeing each other, so i was going straight home.

I had to walk a couple of blocks from my office to reach the parking building were i have to park  my car every day.

As i am walking my eyes met a little boy’s . He looked familiar, So familiar. He was all alone in the street. trying to get any adult to talk to him, but everyone just passed by ignoring him.

His eyes were puffy and red. His cheeks had dried tears in them.

I know i’ve seen this kid before. So i just walk up to him and kneel down a little to talk to him

“Hey buddy are you okay?” I ask softly, he looks up to me and hugs me tightly. I’m so confused but i’m just there, trying to understand the situation.

When he pulls away, he sobs a little and dries his tears with his long sleeved Tee. I look at him for awhile and he smiles

“I’m so glad i found you, uncle Noah, I..i got lost, and i don’t have a phone. “

Uncle Noah….

was he…?

Oh my god, he was! He was Valerie’s Nephew, I hadn’t seen him in so long, He’s grown so much, this is so incredible!

“Jason” I say remembering his name

“Are you okay? did you get hurt?” I ask first and he shakes his hand and i sigh in relief

“What happened? where did you lose your aunt?”

“We were on the park and she got on the phone” He sighed “ I got bored and went for an ice cream , i realized i had no money but when i had to come back, i didn’t know how”  he started to tear up and i sighed placing my hand on his shoulder

“Hey buddy, it’s okay, you’re okay now, we’ll call your aunt.”

He nodded and i took my phone out of my pocket, i called, but it was turned off, I sighed and placed it back on my pocket

“She has her phone off. How about we call her again in awhile? I’ll buy you the ice cream you wanted.” I say to him and he nods.

He ordered an ice cream and i ordered a milkshake, the only thing i could do until i could call valerie was keep him comfortable

“I’m so happy you’re back together with my aunt. I have missed you so much, Uncle Noah” He said cheerfully and i almost choke on my drink. I started coughing a little.

“Jason, did she tell you that?” i ask looking at him confused and he shook his head

“nope, but i just know, why else would you be in new york, and so close to the park, you were coming to meet with us, right?” He says carelessly and i chuckle shaking my head
