"Dev?" I said with a real smile on my face. He hugs me to tight and I end up coughing up blood.
Shanti runs towards me
"Y/n, are you okay"
I wipe my mouth.
"Im fine"
Dev looks at me and hugs me again
"I know about Keshawn y/n"
I stop everything goes blank
Flashback to 5 months ago
"Keshawn please"
I plead while my helpless body lays in the alley on 28th street.
He stabs me in my left leg
"Don't eve tell anyone about what I do, you should no better"
He takes out the knife and drives off
I push myself against the wall and just cry until shanti and dj run up and help me into the car.

"Let's just go"
I stop and look at this boy
5'11 (a/n I'm guessing that's how tall Joey isss)
Dark brown hair, real skinny
We made eye contact
He smiled at me
I smiled back and just blushed hella hard.
"Y/n why don't you stay at our hotel? And let dj and shanti have a night"
I knew they needed it.
A night I'm not coming home bloody and sore
A night I'm not there so they can be a couple
"Um sure I just gotta get some clothes ig"
We go back to our duplex and I can tell Keshawn's here. I look and see the lights on.
I turn around at everybody smiling and joking around.
"Stay here"
Shanti and dj look in the apartment and they look at me then everyone else
"Just get in the car and I'll get him out"
"Y/n stop, we will go with you"
"Shanti you're gonna make it worse, I love you but no. Now go before he sees you guys with me"
Dev looks at me confused and then realized what's going on and told me to be careful.
I look at that boy and he just looks at me and swallows hard. They get in the car
I told them to drive around the block till i call.
I open the door to Keshawn and his friend kris. I shake up with kris and he looks at me with sympathy and at that moment I knew what was gonna happen.
I got pushed to the ground and felt his foot against my chest and he kicks me multiple time and knocked the wind outta me.
"Hey baby, you won good job"
I spit out blood and look at him
" but I have a question" he kicks me the hardest hes ever in the stomach
"What the hell is dev doing here"
How does he know, who snitched. I'm kicking there ass for sure.

He looked me kissed my head and walked out like nothing happened.
After 10 minutes I sat up and called shanti
Breathing heavy and shaky
"You guys can come back now"
"Y/n are you okay"
"Im good just it's safe"
Dev , shanti, dj and all his friends run in while I'm still on the floor and there's blood everywhere.
"Joey help me put her on the couch"
That minute

He touched me
I felt sparks and happiness that minute
He smiled at me but I'm in to much pain to smile back.
Shanti packs my stuff and I stand up
My body aching but I'm used to it
I grab my bags and hug her.
"Call me if anything"she says while looking at dev like I'm not here and she's my mom.
"Love you bestfriend"
"Luh you too"
Skip to the hotel
I take a shower and come out
Most of them are asleep exempt joey
I grab my bag and walk back to the bathroom
I change into clothes shanti packed me
She like my mom, bestfriend ,and sister in all. I silently laugh to myself.
I walk out with his eyes still on me but I don't mind.
I walk out side to the balcony
This city is beautiful it's just not worth all the pain it caused me.
I heard the door open the close and turn and see him
The one and only joey birlem
He just looked at me stood next to me
"I don't know if this is rude, I also don't know the full story but I wanna know why?"
I look at him with a confused look hoping and actually begging myself in my head that he's not talking about what I think he's talking about.
"Why what" I sigh
"Are you with a guy that treats you so wrong but you stay loyal to him?"
I sigh again
"Do you think I wanna be in this relationship?"
He stays silent and stares at me
"1 year of my life, wasted and in pain constantly. I haven't seen myself without a black eye for 6 months, 6 months"
He looks at me with sympathy
"I'm used it myself looking like this now"
He hugs me
I hug him back
I feel safe

It's 1:06am
We're still hugging
It's been about 2 minutes and I let go
He looks at me
I look at him
Our lips touch only for two seconds before we heard a giant bang on the door.
We quickly run in and everyone's awake

I run and look through the peephole
And see what I didn't want to
I turned and looked at them, then look at Bryce
"Get her out of here" I say while I stare at Elle and Bryce.
I open and the door and say
"Hi" I'm a shaky voice
