49. Patience

I wait by your side, untethered,
for you've long since left us behind, traveling through moors unknown and gazes wild, I continue to wait
like a petulant child.

I wait by your side, unencumbered,
for you've long since forgotten
what love really felt like,
transient as your soul is
towards the beyond,
I can barely fence
another bond.

And so I wait by your side, patiently,
to see you now reconnected to a world you'd once fallen out of,
reconciled with the prospect
of returning to sight,
I now nurse the pieces
of my perfect world in plight.
