Kindness was a unique child,
One of it's very kind,
Supremely ignored amidst its siblings - Peace, Love and Happiness,
Always shallowed out against its arch nemesis -
Greed, Envy and Sadness.

She grew up to be a beautiful woman,
Whose virtues were far unknown,
Drawing herself to the peak of her youth,
Grappling the eyes of many asunder.

Until she lost her way into a world of harshness
Where each worried about the bread of their own,
While trying to keep close everything they are
And everything to them that was known.

She had her heart broken by many,
Until she could take it no more,
She decided to lock herself away in a tower,
Where not even the mighty could touch her anymore.

People believed her naive, mistook her stand for her foolishness,
"She'll come around," they boasted aloud,
But all their words failed to mess.

Times now went and winds changed,
The world grew quick but now greyed,
Kindness was discussed only as a guest,
One whose story remained,
but nothing else.

The world grew dreary and red
As blood grew cheap and water a dread,
The nemesis hand finally found victory in time,
Over the foolishness of man and the pride of dime.

Love had grown selfish over time,
Peace had grown in isolation sublime,
Happiness now came at a price
And kindness was too away to entice.

Humanity looked over the fate of her children,
And shed tears of agony and sighed,
Why had they broken down against a world,
That was supposed to bloom at their sight?

Until finally man was locked up one day,
The nemeses of time now docile,
For hell hath no fury
like the wrath of a woman scorned a mile.

Kindness finally looked out that day,
And broke into a fresh spring that light,
For in an empty world she had now finally found,
The meaning of her plight.
