i had just gotten off the phone with my mom, telling her all about this stupid dating stunt i had going on. she told me all the things i knew she was going to say; that shawn was hot and i was lucky, that this would help my career, and do not under any circumstances tell my abuela about this. abuela was probably the least psyched that i wanted to become a fashion designer. she didn't think the career was practical. and when i told her i was actually going to be modeling as well... let's just say she didn't take that too well either. regardless she's been nothing but supportive of my career, even if it isn't her favorite thing. but there was one thing she made absolutely clear to me; do not let this industry change me in any way, or affect my personal life at all. if she found out that i was fake dating a celebrity in order to further my career, she'd be beyond disappointed in me. as i entered my living room i saw cat sprawled on the couch, scrolling through her macbook.
"come see this," she called, patting the spot next to her. taking a seat next to her, i noticed mine and shawn's photo on her computer screen. she was reading those stupid gossip articles i absolutely despised.
"what is this shit cat," i groaned. "enews is GUSHING over you and mendes," she squealed, "read it!"

Mendes Army beware, a certain Latina hottie has stolen the heart of our favorite Canadian boy. Or so we think, nothing is confirmed yet, but rumors are flying left and right. Singer, song writer Shawn Mendes was spotted with model and designer Amaya Vega at a restaurant in downtown Los Angeles. Though it seemed to be an innocent looking hang out, after their adorable pictures together at the Met Gala we can't be too sure. Several sources at the restaurant stated the pair "...could keep their eyes off of each other" but let's be real, who can blame them? They're both hot.
