The Avengers-Having Fun?

You laid down on the beach chair and closed your eyes, happily soaking up the warmth of the sun. The rooftop pool had been Tony's idea and although he had only installed it on the grounds of boredom, you silently thanked him for being such a busybody.

A loud splash was followed by sprinkles of cold water covering your legs and you sat up, annoyed.

"Sorry." Clint said sheepishly.
"Watch where you're jumping, Bird Man." Natasha snapped from the chair beside you.

"Come on! It's hot! Don't you girls wanna join in on the fun?"
"We are having fun. This is it." Wanda drawled lazily.
"Okay, I didn't have this pool built for you to sit next to it."
"We don't always get what we want, Stark. You should know that from last night's rejection."

You fist bumped Nat and Wanda as the boys hollered with laughter, splashing Tony's red face.

"I was drunk! That totally doesn't count!"
"Does to me."

You adjusted your shoulders to get more comfortable and began to close your eyes again when a shadow fell over your face.

"Hiya, doll."
"You're blocking my sun, Bucky."
"Well, you're blocking my way to the pool."

You shrieked as Bucky lifted the chair with you still in it into the air and moved towards the water.

"I promise to the gods above, James Buchanan Barnes, if you throw me in that pool, I'll slit your throat in your sleep!" You snarled.

"That's a bit far, isn't it, Y/N?"

Before you could reply, he jerked the chair forward and you fell into the cold water with a splash. You came up for air and quickly dived out of the way as Wanda and Nat were thrown in by Steve and Pietro. Nat spluttered out of the water with a look that, if it could, would definitely kill and the men scattered to the corners of the pool.

"I'll break all of your necks!" She roared, charging towards the ladder.

"Why'd you have to go and piss her off?!" Sam shrieked as Nat climbed out of the pool and tackled Steve into a pile of noodles.
"We were just trying to have fun!" Clint yelled and tried to dodge the bottle of sunscreen she launched at him, but failed as it hit him square in the forehead.

"I honestly don't know how any of you can enjoy yourselves with the ruckus you're all causing." Loki snapped from his beach chair.
"Calm down, brother. You must learn to relax." Thor chided.

Loki gave him a furious glare before sliding his glasses back on and laying down. You giggled and pushed yourself out of the pool, sitting on the edge and dangling your legs in the water.
Wanda pulled herself up beside you and you both watched, amused, as Natasha tied a noodle around Steve's neck while swinging at a helpless Bucky who was trying his best to help his friend while avoiding her wrath. It had been awhile since any of you got time to hang out just for the fun of it and it was nice to see everyone relaxed and acting normal.

Tony swam up to you and rested his forearms on your thighs, holding his face in his hands.

"Aww, what's wrong, hunny? Not enjoying yourself?" You asked with a fake pout.

"I'd be having more fun if you came down here and gave me a kiss." He gave you a sultry wink and Wanda laughed before jumping into the water and swimming stealthily towards Clint.

"Aren't you persistent."

You held Tony's face in your hands, the stubble scratching lightly at your palms and he grinned widely.

"Only for you."

You opened your mouth to say something when you were scooped into the air, but before you could close your mouth, you ended up choking on a mouthful of water.

"Wilson! I was this close...THIS close to asking her out while sober, you dickwad!" Tony yelled. Sam snickered, but immediately cut off when you punched him in the chest after surfacing.

"Shit...can't...breathe."
"That...is...it. If I see any of you throughout the rest of this day, I'll kill you all myself!" You seethed.

Natasha pushed herself off of Steve and Bucky swooped in to rescue him from the strangling noodle. Wanda raised her hands and Clint burst out of the water, gasping dramatically for air and clutching at the side of the pool.

"You're all crazy!" He sputtered as the three of you gathered your stuff and made to walk back into the Tower.

"What? We were just having fun." You said innocently.
"And aren't you boys all about fun?" Nat gave them a warning look before stepping into the elevator after you and Wanda.
The doors closed on the three of you and Tony slumped against the side of the pool, shooting Sam a nasty look.

"Almost had her." He mumbled.
"Nice. Keeping the dream alive." Sam snorted.
"Shut up."
