Chapter 31 - Good Morning Kiss

Lucy's POV

I woke up, feeling well rested, in the arms of the man I love. I looked up at his sleeping face and he was snoring peacefully. His sleeping face reminds me of the time when I thought he was cute sleeping before he Fire Dragon Iron Fisted me in the face, sending me into a river on the other side of Magnolia. That really hurt. I felt his body shift a little and heard a yawn. "Oh, good morning Lucy" he said tiredly as he rubbed his eye. "Good morning Natsu" I replied and he leaned in, giving a good morning kiss. "I could get use to this" he said with a cheeky grin and I giggled.

After breakfast and getting changed, we headed towards the guild. I was anxious because I was worried the guild would tease me. Natsu held my hand the whole way to the guild and as we stood in front of the guild doors, he squeezed my hand for comfort. "You ready?" he asked and I nodded. We walked through the doors and unexpectedly, everyone was crowded around someone, laughing. We went closer to find Gray in the centre. "He grabbed Taka's collar and was like 'I can't believe you dragged my Lucy into this because of a stupid reason!' Then later when everyone in Sabertooth were giving kitten Lucy belly rubs, he snatched her from the table and shouted 'she's mine! Back off!'" he said mimicking Natsu's voice. Everyone laughed at what he was saying.

I heard Natsu growl beside me, "shut up Ice Princess!" he exclaimed and everyone turned their attention to us. All of a sudden, they shouted "congratulations!" and I was shocked and confused. I thought everyone was going to tease me about the kitten thing. "What?" I said and Mira pointed to our hands that we were still holding hands. I couldn't help but blush.

"So you and Lucy are going out, Flame Brain?" Gray asked. "Yeah! Lucy's my girlfriend so every man BACK OFF!" Natsu shouted as he glared at all the men, especially Gray. "Yay Lucy isn't my love rival anymore! Gray my darling!" Juvia cheered and tackled Gray in a hug. "Juvia...can't...breathe" Gray groaned and everyone laughed. "Great to have you back Lu" Levy said and I couldn't help but smile at my Fairy Tail family.

Everyone partied for my return even though I was with them as a kitten. Natsu was fighting Gray like usual, I heard Natsu saying he wanted to get Gray back for the earlier teasing. Before their fight got everyone else involved, the other guys pulled them apart and they surrounded Natsu asking him questions that I couldn't hear. Soon the girls pulled me aside and showed me all the cute kitten photos of me. I got to admit, I was an adorable kitten if I do say so myself. I was chatting with the girls on what I missed as a kitten when Natsu wrapped an arm around my shoulder. He's breath reeked of alcohol and with how he was acting, I knew he was drunk.

"Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucy~ the boys keep teasing me~" he whined as he hugged my waist. I couldn't help but think he looked so cute and hugged him back with my hand running through his hair. I noticed the girls smirking around me, "you should take Natsu home now Lucy" Mira suggested. I rolled my eyes, "come on Natsu, lets go home" I cooed and he nodded.

We walked out of the guild and Natsu had his arm around my waist. Occasionally he would glare at men who would look at me as we walked by. "Congratulations Lucy!" the boatmen called out as we got near my apartment. "Thank you!" I shouted back before we entered my apartment.

As soon as we entered my living room, Natsu wrapped his arms around my waist from behind me. "Please cook me dinner" he said as he rested his chin on my shoulder. He wasn't acting drunk anymore. "You were pretending to be drunk, weren't you?" I asked and I heard him chuckle behind me. "You caught me" he chuckled and turned me around in his arms. He gave me a peck on the lips, "I want all your attention tonight" he said with a soft smile.

Suddenly, we heard his stomach growl and we laughed, "and your food" he chuckled. I gave him a peck on the lips, "give me a moment to cook you some food to fill that bottomless stomach of yours" I giggled. I slipped away from his arms and went to the kitchen. I cooked plates of Natsu's favourite foods. His eyes widened at all the food, "I'm dating a food goddess!" he exclaimed before digging in. I giggled and ate my own plate of creamy pasta.

Once all the food was gone, Natsu sat on my bed like an obedient puppy while I cleaned the dishes. I could almost imagine some pink dog ears on his head and a pink dog tail wagging a million miles a minute. I laughed at the thought, "what's so funny?" Natsu asked from the other room. "Nothing" I replied and finished washing the dishes.

Once I finished, I walked into my living room and grabbed my pyjamas. "I'm going for a bath" I told him and walked towards my bathroom. "Can I join you?" I heard him ask behind me, "nope!" I replied. I was sure he pouted at my answer. I filled the bathtub and slipped in. The water temperature was perfect and I felt my muscles relax. I thought over all the events that happened recently. I can't believe I'm dating Natsu now.

After my bath, I changed and walked back into my living room. "Finally!" Natsu exclaimed as his face lit up. He jumped off the bed and grabbed my hand. He dragged me back to the bed and sat down. Natsu pulled me onto his lap and wrapped his arms around me. I felt his hot breath tickle my ear and he whispered into my ear "I love you, my little kitten."
