You know what? I'm just going to stop myself right there and make a confession. Ready? Almost everything I told you about the bar and Jenny was a goddamn lie.
Yes, the whole situation with Jenny happened, but it sure as shit didn't happen that night or even that soon. I took a few liberties with the actual details and timeline of the story, but it's something I've always done because I don't want to admit just how much I fucked up. To be fair, every single one of us does it at some point since we have to fulfil that need to be the hero in our own damn stories, and you're goddamn right I'm going to be as much of the hero as I can be.
So I didn't run into Jenny that night.
That happened later, some other night. Instead, I did what every asshole does when rock bottom is heading toward their face at the speed of suck.
I went to see my ex-girlfriend.
I went to see Jaime.
