Will's POV

"-and most importantly, make sure no-one, and I mean no-one finds out about the gods. I removed the wizards knowledge of us for good reason, and will not have a group of demigods ruin that. Understand?" The four of us nodded. We were dressed in Hogwarts uniform, about to finally go to the magic school. Usually I'd be more excited, but I was more scared than anything.

The way Hecate had described the school at first was, well, magical. A giant castle, hidden away in the forests of Scotland, filled with passageways and trick doors. Students milling through the halls inbetween classes, which were cool enough by themselves! But then we realized that that was before Voldemort came to power. Now, instead of potions classes, the dungeons were used to torture muggle borns. The great Hall was almost the same, but almost no talking was allowed. As far as I could gather, the only place the students could be themselves were the common rooms. It made me sick.

"Alright. This portkey will transport you to Kings Cross station-" "Portkey?" asked Nico warily. The goddess sighed. "The ticket. When it starts glowing, hold onto it. Once your at Kings Cross you will go to platform Nine and Three quarters and-"
"Waitwaitwait, Nine and Three Quarters?" asked Piper incredulously. Hecate rolled her eyes. "Weren't you listening when I was telling you in History of Magic? You run through the barrier between platforms nine and ten, and then you'll be transported to platform nine and three quarters! But make sure you aren't seen." So she expected us to run through a brick wall.... conspicuously. What the hell?

I looked at Nico, who stifled a giggle. I smiled at his daintiness, and turned my attention back to Hecate. "Once you're on the train, read this." she handed Nico a brownish envelope. "But make sure no-one else is in the carriage okay? Anything out of the ordinary will get you noticed. And you do not want to be noticed. Have fun!" I looked at her in confusion. What???

"Will!" I heard Nico's voice call out, before the boy yanked me hand and placed it on the now glowing Portkey. The bluish hue continuously grew brighter, until I could hardly see anything else. "Good luck!" called Hecate, her voice sounding strangely distant. I looked over at Nico, who smiled. "Scared Solace?" I scoffed. "You wish." I felt a jerk in my navel, and then we were standing in the middle of a busy platform, in the middle of Kings Cross station. We just stood there for a while, taking in the sights. Then Hazel smiled and clapped her hands.

"Well, come on! I've always wanted to go to England!" She then proceeded to grab Pipers hand and drag her through the station. I exchanged glances with Nico, who sighed. "Come on." He said, taking my hand and following her sister. I walked through the station expecting to get some weird looks. I mean, come on! I was holding Nico's hand, wearing robes, and tugging a giant trunk through a train station! I remembered Hecate's warning. It's best not to get noticed. "Well. We're gonna fail that." I grumbled. My wand -Unicorn hair core, Hazel wood 12 3/4 inches-was pressing into my leg uncomfortably, reminding me that at any moment we could be caught. but strangely enough, we remained unnoticed. We finally caught up to Hazel and Piper, who were staring at the wall between platforms nine and ten. Hazel turned to me. "Well?" I surveyed the wall. "I'm not sure." I said. "It looks pretty solid."

Nico rolled his eyes. "Come on pretty boy." "Now wait a moment-" but before I could ask him about the name, my reckless boyfriend had pulled us through the wall. And wow.

We were on a completely different platform, with students lugging around trunks, owls hooting and cats scratching. A few stray rats ran around our feet, and I heard Nico let out a whistle. "This is amazing!" he said beaming, his face lighting up as he took in the scene in front of us. People were rushing around to get on the train, a brilliantly scarlet steam-engine which was puffing out  a blanket of smoke that hung over the platform. The air was filled with excitement, but also a hint of fear. According to Hecate, this was the first year that Voldemort-we were supposed to call him you-know-who- had gained power at Hogwarts. And from what we'd heard, people were terrified. I was knocked over by an ecstatic Hazel.

"Oh gods! Sorry Will." she said helping me up. I rubbed my hair. "S'fine. Do you wanna find an compartment?" The others nodded, and the four of us grabbed our luggage, which had somehow managed to gravitate toward the edges of the platform. After we'd shoved the trunks into the last few carriages, we clambered aboard the train, and walked down the narrow corridor, peering into compartments as we passed. We didn't have to walk very far, seeing as we had boarded early. We had twenty minutes until the train left for Hogwarts. "Found one."

Nico led us into a compartment with absolutely no-one in it. I sat down next to my boyfriend, who had taken the window seat. "So we're finally going to this school huh?" I chuckled at Pipers remark. "Yup. After 2 months of prep." I pointed out. Hazel rolled her eyes. "Come on guys! It'll be fun!" She braced. "You can't tell me it's not exciting!"

"It's not exciting." said Nico and Piper bluntly. "Shut up." said Hazel falling back onto her seat. Nico let out a mock gasp. "Really Hazel? No offensive nicknames? I'm offended!" said Nico leaning back as well. I rolled my eyes. "Uh, sorry to interupt, but maybe we should read that letter thing now?" I asked. "Nah. It's bound to be depressing, might as well save it for later." I shrugged. He had a point.

"Hey, I forgot to ask earlier. What are your wands made out of?" When Hecate had given us our wands, inside the box was a slip of card that told us what they were made of. I pulled mine out. "Unicorn hair core, 12 and 3/4 inches long, made of Hazel wood."
"Mines Pine wood, 12 inches, with a dragon heartstring core." Said Nico as he pulled out his wand. It had an engraved handle and was made of a relatively dark wood. My own wand was engraved all the way down. And it was kind of dark, more brownish actually. Geez. I suck at explaining things.

"Mines Black Walnut, Dragon heartstring core, and 11 and a 1/2 inches." said Piper. "Apparently that means I have-," she squinted down at her piece of card. "-good instincts and powerful insight." Nico sat up. "Makes sense. And they say that?"
"Yep." replied Piper. "Turn it over." I looked down at my own little piece of card and saw that it did tell me about the characteristics of my wand.

"Cool." said Hazel. "Mines Unicorn hair, pear wood and 11 and 3/4 inches. So I'm warm-hearted, generous and wise." she looked up pleased. "Isn't that nice!"
"That about sums you up Haze." "Yeah. Pretty accurate if you ask me."
"Aw, thanks guys! How about you two?"

I looked down. "Can understand and manage my own feelings, and it has a capacity for healing magic." I looked up at the others. "Cool."
"Mine is," Nico chuckled. " Independent individual, who can sometimes be perceived as a loner and mysterious." He looked up smirking. "Weird."

"I dunno Neeks. Seems pretty accurate to me." I said smiling. "Shut it Solace." I laughed. And leaned into Nico as the train started to move. "Well," said Hazel grinning. "From now on, we're officially wizards!"
