| chapter 3 |

As Clancy announces to the kid on the other side to open the door, I found a light hoodie belonging to Clancy on the floor. I didn't hesitate to pick it up and hang it around my body. I felt Clancy's perceiving eyes the entire time, watching me. This boy, in fact, was obsessed with me... and I am just as in love with him.

As I was pulling my black hair into a high ponytail, I saw a group of kids walk into the room. Two boys and two girls. Clancy's attention went to the tallest girl, and although jealousy began to hit me, I couldn't help but keep my attention on one of the boys myself.

His eyes were blue and his hair was light. I could see him holding the smaller girl's hand and then turning to look at his fellow tribe mates.

He didn't look at me yet. This boy hasn't seen me yet... until he did. It was like you could see all the oxygen leave his body. He ran a hand through his hair, but I still heard Clancy's voice.

"Zu..." The smallest girl smiles, hiding behind the tallest boy. "Chubs." Clancy points to the boy with glasses, and he gives Clancy a small nod. "Liam Stewart."

That was his name.

"And Ruby Daly... a fellow Orange."

Wait... she's an Orange? She's more like him than I first thought.

"Welcome to E.D.O." Clancy says, giving these newcomers the annual speech.

"Wait... you're the Slip Kid?" Chubs questions.

I had known just a little bit about Clancy's fake name to protect himself from the government, but I didn't know how popular the name got.

I couldn't help but take another look at Liam. There was something so special and unique about him that I felt something different inside of me. This feeling... there was something about it that felt so similar to where I know I've felt it before.

Oh yeah... its the feeling I get when Clancy looks at me. Wait... Clancy is looking at me right now!

I looked back at him and his smile is sweet and genuine. Real gentlemen like... the signs that his father raised him right just before I.A.A.N. "Everyone, meet Amara Westwood." Clancy takes my hand and holds it in his. "She's my co-captain and if I am unavailable, she's your lady."

"So she's like our Mom?" Chubs asks.

I just laugh out a "yep" and everyone in the cabin just starts laughing. The only one who wasn't laughing or anything was Ruby. The fake small grin on her face wasn't going to fool me. She may be just as powerful as Clancy and I, but if it came down to me showing her who is in charge, then I will gladly.

Amara, quit. Calm down! Jealous much?! Jesus!

"Well, Mike! Show these newcomers to their cabins and assist them if they need anything. Dinner tonight is at sundown." Clancy announces, and Mike takes the four kids away. I didn't notice that I was holding my breath the entire time, and when they were all gone I let it all out.

"Princess are you okay?" Clancy asks.

I sit down on the bed without so much as a "fine." I don't look at him because I just didn't feel like it, even though I love looking at him. I feel guilty that I'm acting this way all because the Orange we just met is a girl, but I just came face to face with a boy and felt that... spark.

"Amara are... are you jealous?" He asks me.

"No." I respond quickly, folding my arms. Maybe a bit too quickly...

Clancy chuckles, walking towards me and sitting next to me. I lean away and against the pillows. A strand of my hair falls in front of my face, and I find myself looking out the window into the camp, no sign of the newcomers.

"You are aren't you?" He pauses. "Of Ruby?"

"Why would I be jealous of Ruby?" I snap.

"Because she's an Orange and you're a Red?" Its more a question than a statement. It's his nice way of saying "she's better than you. she's not you" sort of thing. I couldn't help but think about the way Clancy said her name...

But couldn't get out of my head the way Liam looked at me...
