Percy's POV
I watch the level numbers run past me. My eyes widen. I've just watch SL22, SL23, SL24, and SL25 pass. We stop at SL26. The elevator shaft still continues down. For how long?
Robin: I'm at the end of my rope.
We all stop sliding and let Rob jump onto the narrow platform with this levels elevator doors. He makes it with ease. I'm guessing his years in the circus and crime fighting came in helped a little.
Robin then moves to the side so Aqualad can make it. He does and offers his hand to Kid. The three boys stand there while I continue to hang. There isn't any more room on the tiny platform.
Me: Will you boys hurry up?
Robin: I'm bypassing security now.
We wait for the Robin heads to turn green.
Robin: There. Go.
Aqualad pries the door open. The boys walk through. I swing through feeling like Tarzan.
Robin: Welcome to project Cadmus.
KF smiles.
Me: Oh no.
He bolts.
Aqualad: Kid, wait!
Me: Will he ever slow down?
Robin: Hah! No.
I hear the sounds of heavy footsteps. It sounds like an elephant is in the building. KF hears it too. He tries to skid. However, he can't stop himself in time. He falls into a hallway as massive creatures walk by on all fours. Even though they are on all fours, they stand nearly as tall as the hallway. The beast walk in two rows.
Wally doges the hand of the thing in the front, but it was a close call.
Robin, Aqualad, and I all sigh in relief. Wally stands up and runs back to us.
I give him a big hug. Once I release him I punch him in the arm.
Me: This is why you don't run ahead! For now on you stay near us unless I say other wise. Got it?
Kid Flash: Yeah, I got it.
Me: Good. Now what are those things?
No one has an answer.
One of the beast growls at us, but there is a smaller thing on its massive trunk head. The smaller one hisses and it's horns glow red as the larger one continues to walk.
Aqualad: No nothing odd going on here.
