Your dad was taking you to school. It's the second day. And you didn't completely hate being there.

The day before, you sat alone in lunch like suspected but then also people were saying shit about you. Did you care? No. They're cowards if they can't tell you in person. Bullies are not something you'd like, you're learning to except that you can defend your self.

You said bye to your dad and walked inside. This time, you had the device on your jaw so you can communicate with people.

You walked to your locker and took your books out then walked to class.

<Good Morning Ms Warren> The device said and the teacher looked confused.

Ms Warren asked, "How are you talking?" <My dad made a device that I attach to my jaw so whenever I sign, it will talk out loud>

"That's nice. Your father should make that for the people and not just you" She said.

"Oh so you do talk? I thought the shy girl wouldn't talk" You turned to see Peter at the door. You two were early.

<Hello Peter Parker> The device said as you signed and then his smile turned in confusion. You smirked and sat down and he followed.

"What the hell. How are you talking without moving your mouth?" He asked very confused.

<The shy girl does not talk at all. Nor is she shy> You signed and he looked at your hands and went wide eyed.

"You're mute?!" He yelled causing Ms Warren to send him a small glare.

<Yes I am> He looked like he'd seen a ghost.

"Oh my god. You're mute. I'm s-so sorry. I didn't kn-know. I just thought you-you were really shy" He stuttered.

You smiled and shrugged. <I didn't really want you knowing. And I've done ASL in front of you but you never seemed to notice>. You shrugged.

"O-oh! I'm so sorry! But why didn't you want me knowing?" He asked.

<It's nice to know someone doesn't know I'm mute so they dont give me pity. Besides you seemed a bit frustrated when I wouldn't talk and it was cute> You giggled quietly.

"You really think so? I mean, if you were mute, shy, loud, or anything I'd still be your friend." He said and you smiled big.

"You should meet my friends" He said and you looked at him confused.

<Why? I think I'm ok with just talking to you. I don't want to get attached to you or your friends> You signed.

"Why don't you want to get attached?" He asked and flashbacks from when you were with Lily played in your head then seeing her on the ground with blood stayed there.

He noticed the change in your mood and was quick to try and change the subject. "So, is this your first time going to an actual school?" He asked and you shrugged.

<I stopped going to school in the sixth grade> He nodded to your response. "Why are you back?" <I wanted to come to a normal school. Sometimes it felt lonely being with the teacher my dad hired to homeschool me. He was cool, but it got lonely> You signed.

"Well now you have classmates. And me to talk to" He said making you smiled. He was glad to see he made you smile.

More students started walking in and sat down in their seats and you were glad to hear the bell ring.

"Alright class. Let's get started" Ms Warren said.

You walked to the lunch area and sat down at an empty table. You saw Peter with his friends but you didn't want to bother. Nor did it make you happy to meet them.
