(A/n: the italics means it's a flash back:))

Did you know my ceiling fan turns in a complete circle seventy three times a minute on it's low setting. No? I didn't either till today. I laid in my floor watching it spin round and round. I felt like I couldn't move.

"I need to tell you the real reason we moved back in with your dad so abruptly." My mom said staring at me intensely. "What do you mean?" I asked confused.

"A month before I told you we were moving I had a patient. She was young. About thirteen, Kaitlynn Rose Hart . Her injuries were very serious and by the time she made it to me there wasn't much I could do except try to save her. She was on life support for five days before I told her father she was gone and we had to pull the plug. He was very angry with me. Said I killed his daughter. It broke my heart but all I could do was apologize and leave. About two weeks later I got a letter from him. It basically said that I killed his daughter so he was going to kill me or my daughter to make it even. I didn't know how he even knew about you. I was scared so I called your dad. He offered for us to move in. We'd been together for two years at that point but I hadn't told you yet. I knew I was going to soon anyways but I didn't know how to phrase hey I'm with your dad and we're moving in next month. So I told him I needed time to talk to you before I made a decision. Then I started getting letters like that at work and in my car so I told you and we moved." My mom talked before stopping and taking a breath.

I was shaking rapidly. "I just got a call from the police. Someone broke into our old house last night and stabbed the new owner two times. She'll make it but she told him where we live now. She said it was the only way he'd stop. She just said the town but he got away. They have reason to believe he will come for us. They are going to search his house in the morning." My mom finished.

Tears fell down my face. A mad man was coming for me and my mom. "What does this mean?" I asked with a shaky voice. "Well we will figure it out after the police call back." Matt answered.

What am I supposed to do. What if this guy finds us. I sighed deciding to research him. I googled his daughters name and an article popped up. 'Kaitlynn Rose Hart dies a tragic death at age thirteen. Kaitlynn and her father, Rick Hart, went to get ice cream when Kaitlynn decided to walk home early. On the way home Rick found daughter on the side of the road where she had been ran over and left. Her injuries were to extreme by the time they made it to hospital.' I stopped reading and printed a copy of the headline.

I then searched Rick Hart. The latest stabbing popped up and I printed the headline of it also. I found an old small box from moving and place the papers in it. I put it in the back of my closet and closed out of my laptop.

A loud knocking downstairs made me jump. I slowly walked down the stairs and to the front door. I cautiously looked through the peep hole and saw Samantha Rebecca and Lisa.

I sighed in relief and unlocked and opened the door. "Hey guys." I smiled. "We brought soup from Leo's, the best soup in the world! The guys are coming over after the game and we brought lots of movies and games." Samantha said with a smile.

My eyes watered up. I love these people. "Oh no don't cry." Lisa said pulling me into a hug.

"Sorry. Come in we can hang in the living room. My parents went to-" I stopped remembering I couldn't tell where they were. "My grandparents. Carrie is at a friends for the weekend." I finished as smoothly as I could.

Rebecca gave me a weird look. "Sorry something got caught in my throat." I brushed it off. "Here y'all set up food and drinks I'll get pillows and blankets. There's stuff in the kitchen you can get too." I said walking up the stairs.

It's the first time all day I felt at peace. I grabbed as many pillows and blankets as I could and walked back downstairs.

Samantha and Rebecca already made themselves cozy in the four person couch and Lisa took the one seater so I got on the three person couch. They were all rather large cushions for each person so I could easily lay across and still have room.

I sat with my legs crossed as I picked a movie and got some soup. "How about 50 first dates. It's been awhile since I've seen that." I offered. "Whatever you want." Samantha agreed. I put it in and cuddled into the couch while eating outstanding soup.

"We won!" Jason cheered as they piled through my front door. "Lock it behind y'all!" I yelled. I heard the lock click and instantly felt better.

"How's the sick kid?" Damon joked. "I'm feeling better." I admitted. "So that means you're going to the Halloween party?" Samantha asked hopefully as Damon sat next to her.

Tyler and Jason sat on either side of me. Shit didn't think that through. "I don't know." I answered. "Come on Lilly come to my party!" Damon begged.

My phone buzzed on the table and moms photo appeared. "Awww so cute." Jason teased. I rolled my eyes and tried to hide my shaking hands as I grabbed it. "I'll be back." I said to them before walking up the stairs.

"Hello?" I answered as I sat by my desk. "I have good and bad news." My moms voice said. "Start with good." I begged.

"Good news is Ricky isn't coming in our direction." Mom said. "How do you know that?" I asked.

"Well that leads to the bad news. There's another town with a similar name as ours in the opposite direction, and it's pretty far away. He's going there. I know this because about halfway there they found a teenaged girl who was stabbed a lot. She looked a lot like you. She didn't make it to the hospital." My moms voice cracked before she started breaking down.

"It's okay mom. We'll be okay." I cued trying not to cry. "I have friends over I better go." I said before hanging up.

I quickly googled recent stabbings and a story popped up. The girl did look a lot like me. I printed it and added it to the box before wiping my eyes.

I took a deep breath and walked down stairs. "Everything okay?" Tyler asked. "Yea Mom just told me she missed me. I haven't seen her in awhile. But I'm going to the Halloween party." I stated plopping down in my spot. I needed to get all of this off my mind.
