Difference (*Ackley Bridge*)

TWENTY ONE

I sat on the sofa on top of the skip, it was fairly late in the evening when I saw Nas and Missy walking over to join me.

"You are such a drama queen." Missy said with a smirk as she bumped my shoulder whilst sitting down on the left of me and Nas sat down on the right,

"You stormed out of lessons." Nas said

"I hurt Cory." I said quietly

"Yeah we saw him at lunch." Missy smiled

"It's not funny Missy! I could've really hurt him!" I snapped a little bit
"Is he alright though?" I asked sounding a lot more calmer than I was a couple of seconds ago.

"Ask him yourself." Nas said as she nodded he head to a boy walking towards us in the distance, Missy and Nas got off the sofa and left me alone waiting for Cory to come and join me,

"Hi." He said as he stood on the ground in front of me

"Hey." I said quite weakly

"Can I sit with you?" He asked me and I nodded my head as he climbed up the steps and sat himself down gently beside me

"I'm so sorry Cory I didn't mean to hurt you." I said wholeheartedly

"I know you didn't Lee but you need to tell me what's going on so I can help you, because this just isn't you." He told me

"I know." I sighed lightly as I played with the ends of my hair between my fingers.

"Whatever it is I will sort it." He told me

"I believe you Cory I know you want to help but I just don't think that this is something that you can solve like a normal problem." I told him

"Well you won't know until you tell me." He said as he put his hand on top of my leg and rubbed his thumb on it softly

"I do." I said quietly and I noticed Cory huff in frustration at me and I just rolled my eyes

"There you go again Leeanna! Shutting me out like you always do! All I'm trying to do is help you but you won't let me because you think that you can be the hero and solve all your problems and everyone else's problems on your own! Well you can't Lee, you need to let people help you like I am trying to do now." Cory expressed to me and I just stayed silent.
"Oh do you know what forget it." He groaned in frustration as he got up from the sofa and walked down the steps

"I'm in trouble." I told him and that made him stop walking away from me, he turned himself around slowly to face me
"I'm in trouble Cory and I don't know how to sort myself out." I say as I started to break down into tears that I had been bottling up for so long, Cory came back onto the sofa and pulled me into his chest as I cried my eyes out on his school blazer, he kissed the top of mi head and gripped me tightly to him.

"Tell me what's wrong Lee, please I want to help you." He whispered so I nodded my head and the two of us made our way back to my house where I was going to tell him everything that was going on. When we both got back to my house I took Cory into my bedroom and I sat on my bed where he joined me after closing the bedroom door,
"So what's going on then? Why are you in trouble?" Cory asked me and I played with my finger nails seriously debating whether to tell him or not but now that he was in my home and in my room I guess I didn't really have much of a choice now,

"My dad he um- well he's dead." I said quietly trying so hard not to cry like I always do with the simple mention of him

"What how?!" Cory exclaimed

"He was coming home from work when he crashed his car into the wall off the estate because his breaks didn't work, he died instantly from the impact." I told Cory
