"Good morning" Billy greeted as he walked up to his car.

"Morning" I said. I was really dreading today, first day of school and the Byers' moving in.

"What's got you down?" Billy asked as he pulled out of the driveway.

"You're never gonna believe this... I come home yesterday to my dad and Joyce having dinner. They decided to drop a bomb about the Byers' moving in...today!" I said. "Worst part I have to share a room with a 13 year old"

"Hey I look at it this way, more nights spent in my bed" Billy joked. I huffed.

We pulled up to school to see Tommy H and a few other people waiting by Billy's parking spot.

"What's all this about?" Billy asked annoyed.

"We got a newbie... he's claiming he's gonna be the new king of the school" Tommy said pointing to guy across the parking lot. He was wearing his varsity jacket from his old high school, he had letters in both football and track.

"Well he's just gonna have to show us what he's got at the party tonight" Billy said walking away from the crowd.

"You think he's going to outdo you?" I asked as we walked in to class.

"Please he looks like a hick from Texas. Nothing special" Billy hissed as the new kid walked into our class sitting down besides me. Billy on my left and the new kid on my right.

"Hey I'm tucker" the kid introduced with a heavy country accent and arm reached out for a handshake.

"Phoebe and that's Billy my boyfriend" I said leaving his hand hanging. He sunk back in his seat as Billy leaned over the desk and waved to him.

Billy scribbled on the desk as the teacher talked about the expectations for this class along with the material needed.

Once the bell rang Billy jumped up from his seat grabbing my bag and holding my hand.

"Heard you were blabbing your mouth about taking over this school" Billy commented as Tucker gathered his things.

"This hell hole sure needs a new king around here" Tucker replied acting like a wise ass.

"You better watch it" Billy said as I dragged him out of the class. Confrontation and fights on the first day of senior year was not what we needed.

As we walked through the halls I saw Jonathan and Nancy talking. Billy and I made our way over to them.

"Jonathan tell me you didn't know about the move" I said with a raised eyebrow. Billy let go of my hand and leaned against the locker lighting a cigarette.

"I found out a few days ago. I hope your not mad" Jonathan said.

"I'm mad my dad told me the day before. It honestly might be nice having more people in the house than just my dad and I. Plus your mom and my dad seem to really care for each other" I said. Jonathan shook his head in agreeance.

"So you two going to the party tonight?" I asked.

"Yeah" Nancy said before Jonathan could say no.

"Well we will see you there tonight" I said grabbing Billy's hand and walking to our next class.

"That Tucker kid is getting under my skin" Billy said during our next class. We both weren't paying attention to the teacher rambling on about world history.

"Don't let him get to you. Like you said he's just some hick from Texas" I said. "C'mon were going to party and let loose tonight"

Billy smiled at the thought of tonight.
