Stage

79 18 21

The stage is lit
A huge audience
All around you
The spotlight is on you.
You are at the center.
Confused, dazed
You are mumbling
Incoherent, incomplete
What to do?
What to say?

Soaking in all the noise
Random slurs in the air
To support you
With some uplifting words
How you are amazing
How you can do anything
Hoping for you
Rooting for you
Your heart swells with pride
You are floating
Your feet above ground
Nowhere around
Happiness knowing no bounds.

But wait, that can't be it
Can it?
Another side pops up now.
Loud booing
How you are useless
How you are losing
At everything
And for nothing.
How you have let them down.
Being hurled in all directions.
You twitch, unable to justify
Wanting to curl up
Far, far away.

Expectations and Defamations
A creative balance of mind
Claiming as your thoughts,
Claim you as a whole.
As your fuel - they ignite you
And burn you at the same time.
With too many voices inside
All speaking at once
Randomly, at you
All with single purpose-
Appealing to yourself
And to everyone around.

Pause right there.
Catch your breath.
Now, listen -
To 'that' one
Instead of so many
Just one - 'your' voice.
The one on stage
In the center.
Basking in the light
Of all your glory
Right under your nose
Unhidden, yet unseen
Your unconditional apostle.
Your boon companion,
Essentially, inevitably.
